I pretty much live off of leftovers - with my husband away so much and me not really being bothered to cook for myself, I have a freezer full of single serving leftovers carefully put together by my husband. I think living with me must be like living with a teengage child.
By the way - very very ashamed to have admitted all of the above, but it's true.
Oh and my favourites are Thai Green Curry or oxtail. Actually any stew, curry and most soups are better the next day.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

Leftover booze - a very bad thing though.

Why? Why be ashamed about your eating habits? It's what works for you at this point in you life. Who cares?

I know it's already been said, but cold pizza is great.
My dad used to say he preferred reheated spaghetti, because "all the tastes mixed together." I don't agree, but it's not bad reheated, either. The only problem is that it rarely heats evenly in a microwave.

i like cold spaghetti, vovat...it's tasty. but not quite so as cold hamburgers. with salt. |

Thanks for that.
My colleagues are often alarmed by my behaviour and I suppose I expected the same here, but I should know better by now.

Never be ashamed about what pleases you.
And, yes, you can and should apply that to all things in life, not just leftovers.
About microwaves. I don't have one, don't like to cook in one. You know, the uneven thing VV's talking about. When people find this out they freak on me, like how could I possibly survive without a microwave. Anybody else hate these things or are VV and I the only ones who can't stand them?

I'm pretty damn shameless in so much of my life that I'm not sure why the food thing. It's more the level of babysitting I need despite being what I reckon to be a pretty independent person.
As for microwaves - I don't have one either. When I realised that the only thing that my husband & I used it for was to reheat the odd cup of tea that had gone cold, we figured we could do without one.

My parents tend to go out to dinner a lot without me, and they generaly don't finish their meals, so I then am entitled to the leftovers. I quite like leftover fish with some sort of starch like risotto for instance. My favorite leftover food though is cold pasta, prefereably with some sort of balsamic sauce, which then can in turn be enjoyed cold. Works even better when mixed with some grilled chicken or shrimp. Mmmm.
I will never say the word procrastinate again, I'll never see myself in the mirror with my eyes closed. |

Leftover restaurant food is the finest.
When I lived with my grandparents - they used to do the same with me, Sir Rockabye and I loved it. Your post has actually made me quite nostalgic.
