Anyone have links to the Futureheads on Conan or Joanna Newsom on Kimmel last night?
And, as a thread starter, how much do you love that indie acts get all this play on the light nate talk show circuit?

I love it, unless they suck. Which a lot of them that I have seen seem to do. Conan has a long history of supporting non-major label acts. I wonder if that will continue when he takes over the Tonight Show.

Cool, lucky you.
Bloc Party have announced another tour in October here and they are now playing the Manchester Apollo. It seems like only yesterday that they were playing the local Bierkeller. They haven't even had a big hit yet. It's an even more meteoric rise than Franz Ferdinand.

I'm really getting into Silent Alarm, it's kicking some major booty. But seriously, the Futureheads. I havne't been this excited about a concert since lil' Frankie make up with lil' Kimmie.

Gabba gabba hey Mike, do you know anything about the Futureheads cd that comes with the DVD? I read about it on their website, and I've ordered it from my local cool record store.

No I haven't heard about the DVD version Mike. You have every right to be excited though.

I think if they have an off night then it might show more than with other bands because of all their harmonies. All four of them sing.

There's no chance of them being worse than Hot Hot Heat, shine. Comparing poorly to FF's well-reputed live show isn't a surprise though.

Yeah, I was just saying the other day, how cool it is that so many bands are getting to play on talk shows, two that spring to mind are Jonathan Ross and The Friday Night Project.
I wish they had more unknown bands on them though...give them some exposure.

I'm pretty upset that I missed the Futurehead's Conan performance, mostly because I knew that it was going to be played, and I was all set to watch it. My deterrent was Million Dollar Baby, so I guess that if I had to miss the performance for anything, and Oscar winning film was very well worth it.

So says you. I read your little review in that other thread, and my opinion still stands.
