And what's the deal with the chain between the two sticks? Sometimes there's a rope, right? I mean, isn't there a standard? A chuck oversight board?
y'know anyone named Chuck? Is he numb? I don't think so!
and all this talk of chuck. Makes me think of hamburgers. and nothing says hamburgers like a pair of foot-long dowels with a chain between em. What's that all about? |

That scene in Ghost World is hilarious..."citizen's arrest! call the cops!"
I guess I just wasn't made for these times. |

We never learnt how to use weapons in Chinese Kickboxing, which was a shame 'cos I always wanted to try these 'cos they look so difficult to use.
Has anyone here ever used them?

My husband does that, in Aikido.

Yes I did, Aikido is a japonese martial art, they use a lot of weapons, he's done almost everything, Kickboxing, Kung Fu, and some more that I can't remember the weird names...

Sounds like Ninjitsu. That's what I wanted to do, but there isn't a local club.
The Chinese Kickboxing that I used to do was a mixture of kickboxing and Kung Fu.

You must have seen that, if you're on martial arts, they wear the Kimono and a kind of skirt on it, a black one.

The name doesn't sound familiar, though that type of dress does.

I learned a few nunchuck routines back when I took Tae Kwon Do in high school. Nothing that would really have been of much use against an actual attacker, though.

Especially as you rarely have a set handy in case of an attack.
