I'm completely against everything it stands for, but I'll probably be watching most or all of it this year, simply because Brian Wilson is nominated for two categories (which they probably won't show anyways) and I believe he's scheduled to perform, along with several others, a cover of the Beatles' "Across the Universe." But other than watching for that reason, I HATE the Grammys!

Well, of course they don't show any of the awards I want to see, they wait until the last minute to show the song I want to see, Bono (like always) looks like the pretentious asshole he is, and they give (quite undeservingly) the best pop vocal album award to Ray Charles over Brian Wilson just because he's dead. But on the positive side, Brian did get best instrumental for Mrs. O'Leary's Cow. How ironic is that!

This just goes to prove once more that the Grammys are a big load of shit, and I just wasted the last three hours of my life (although I didn't really watch it, I was doing some work with the TV on most of the time).

Yeah, I watched a little. My fave part was Stevie Wonder singing a few bars of isn't she lovely.

That whole Pirate theme of the opening act went over my head.

One thing made me really happy about the Grammys, when Loretta Lynn won her award and Jack White wasn't even going to go up to the podium until she called him up. Personally I think Jack White is a class act. I'm sure some people will have jaded things to say about this but whatever, I like the guy.

i flipped in and out for the first hour or so. i thought the jack white/loretta lynn acceptance speech was the most awkward moment of the night, other than maybe jlo trying to sing. jack obviously hadn't planned on speaking and gave us a prime view of the top of his head while he tried to hide behind his hair. i was embarassed for him but so happy for her, he said it all when he said she was a national treasure. her first grammy in 33 years, good for her.

jlo and marc anthony - what the hell was going on there? he took his jacket off, she took her robe off, he put his jacket back on, she put a sweater on, oy vey already. the busy work didn't keep me from noticing her voice.

alicia keys sounded great. i can't believe u2 won.

That Tsunami song was a joke.

First of all, Weiland can't sing anymore.

Secondly, someone should've formally arranged some harmonies or something instead of letting everyone riff at the same time. It ended up being a big cock contest between Alicia, Stevie, Weiland, Steven Tyler, and that country joker.

Will I ever reach 1000?

Brian Wilson sang better than he ever did live the last years
and he was standing up
and waving
and being comfortable
it's like he's getting the hang of performing again
