felt truly free?
Easy for me - first day of big driving on my last holiday - getting out of the city, big open spaces and knowing there were 3 weeks ahead of whatever I felt like. Didn't hurt that we hadn't been caught speeding yet and the music was fresh, good and loud.
I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A

i remember when i quit my job and decided to go back to school. my car broke down, and i had it towed to a shop. instead of taking a cab or the bus i decided to take the rest of the day to walk home (which it almost took from where i was)..
i remember feeling truly free then. absolutely no connections to anything

Yeah, there's a dude here at work thats always saying "the wife" this or "the wife" that.
It bugs me a bit.
"Dude, she got a fekkin NAME?"
Kathryn, I was thinking the same thing but can't say it with as much conviction.
I'm not sure I've ever felt truly free.
Maybe that time I passed out doing nitrous while listening to Ween. |

KSR, my husband (or, should I say, "the husband"? ;-) ) passed out
doing nitrous the night before we got hitched. That was the poor
s.o.b.'s bachelor party, a tank of nitrous in a Safeway parking lot.
Then he passes out and has a raging headache the next day.
I bet when your boy smiles at you, sometimes you feel free.

Being "daddy" is purdy dam cool.
It is a heavy, deep, real emotion, but I don't know if it is freedom really.
When i think back to hiking in the Grand Canyon about 10 years ago - there is freedom there.
Going on tour with a band up and down the east coast...the beginning of that tour - some freedom there.
I think probably the most recent time I've ever felt anything close to freedom was when I was finishing the last song I wrote.
I don't do it much, so it matters and it feels pretty good - even if the song isn't. |

My ex-boyfriend told this hilarious tale of hooking up with this crazy s+m chick
who wanted him to do all sorts of stuff that he found awkward and silly, involving
pain and dog collars and stuff. If you're not into it, s+m can seem goofy. But I
guess the people who do like it, like it a lot.
