I like their music but on I Am Trying To Break Your Heart Tweedy doesn't come over as the tortured genius some would suggest. He seems kinda heartless.

| Hey, I'm with you Kathryn, I don't think YHF is a brillaint masterpiece. In fact, I like A Ghost Is Born far, far better. And Summer Teeth mops the floor with YHF. At least, that's what I said. |

| I like YHF, but it's no AGIB or Summer Teeth. I just think the songs on the latter two are more fleshed out. I think "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart" kinda goes nowhere, as much as I like the hook and the melody. |

One song does not an album make. I agree it's not a 10/10, but there are a lot of good tracks (and I see what you're saying about not going anywhere, but I don't think every song needs to be a journey - there are plenty of songs that go nowhere (or worse, into a 12 min noise jam) on A Ghost Is Born.
That said, one of my favourite songs on GIB is one that doesn't go anywhere - Spiders (Kidsmoke). I'm not sure what point I'm making, but I feel like having an old fashioned debate/hoe-down. With lots of purdy pitchers.

My favorite Wilco albums are the first two, but I enjoy a little country twang. I also like Summerteeth and YHF. The last album has some very high points, but I also find myself skipping songs.
