Too funny. My son doesn't mind it but its not his fave. When I took him to see the RHCP, Debaser came on before the show and I said hey D its the, and before I could finish he said, yayaya mom I didn't come here to listen to Frank Black! Argghh.
The kid mostly likes the heavy music, just like dad.

No mikey that's not what I meant. He does like the RHCP but he moreso he likes to sneak into his dad's cd collection to listen to stuff like Pantera, Inflames, COC etc.
Unfortunately my girl, who's still young, likes poppy type crap. Funny though, she thinks its Hillary McDuff, haha. But she'll listen to alot of Beatles and that kind of stuff, she always sings Baby you're a rich man.

This was a very nice little exchange. I so very enjoyed this juxtaposition of hip-hoppery and blinding caucasianism. Thank you. |

My daughter who will be three in April was bouncing on a trampoline to 'Chemical Warfare' - Dead Kennedys the other day :D. She loved it, though my wife disapproved strongly. Her other favourites are 'Horrible Day' and 'Orpheus' - Ash. She calls them 'big songs'.
I thought about using reverse psychology to keep her on the right path, but it'd probably backfire. Plus, I'd have to listen to sh*t music.

You gotta start them young and for as long as possible not let them discover that there is other, shitty music out there.
I love the DKs.Good for you.

There are some cool forum juniors to carry on when we have gone.
They'll be truly cool when they start posting on here though.

Now that's getting somewhere, unless of course his name is Frank.....
Now if only I can get my daughter to call my wife Frank, that would be an achievement. Actually, as my wife has a passionate hatred for the Pixies, but less so for later FB albums, it may lead to matrimonial strife :(
Still, nothing ventured....;)

Doesn't Violet have a daughter named Annabelle? I've always liked that name, it's so beautiful. Anyways, I'd just like to take this opportunity to congratulate anyone and everyone on this forum who has had or ever will have a baby. I'm terrified of children, so you're all heroes in my eyes.

thanks for all the lovely messages. and the advice. i've bee doing a bit of reading the last 5 months and really picked up some interesting info. i really like to hear that you can't spoil them too much the first year- just give them lots of love and attention. only a year ago when we considered having a child i thought i would just put in earplugs, sleep peacefully through the night, and the baby would become super tough. when i first told my wife that she smacked me in the head. i've got lots of learning to do and really looking forward to the ride.

That's completly impossible, to sleep peacefully when you have a baby...your wife is right! And about the crying, babies cry a lot, but that doesn't mean they have some problem, it's their way of comunicate. Just do whatever your instinct tells you, and that's the better way to deal with it!
