This is a bit old, it may have even done the rounds on this forum but im not sure....anyway its pretty bloody funny, the author definitely is trying to stir up people, and judging by the replies down the bottom of the page he's succeeded. |

I too agree with most of it, but not Bowie's Hunky Dory, Stereolab, White Stripes, Jefferson Airplane, Sublime, and especially not Layla. |

The only way to remove my copies of Hunky Dory and Arthur is to pry them from the grasp of my cold, dead fingers. |

I think it's ridiculous. What a fucking sham of an article. I'll never get rid of Nevermind, Joshua Tree, Trout Mask, Hunky Dory, Vs., Blood Sugar, Dear 23, Soft Bullitin, Being There, We're Only In It For the Money, Nothing's Shocking, Daydream Nation, Dark Side of the Moon, Sgt Pepper's, Out of Time, or Violent Femmes. These are great fucking records! Some of them aren't perfect. Yeah, Being There should've been 1 CD instead of 2, yeah some of the songs on Daydream are too long, but they're still great albums. Trout Mask Replica is "cacophonous and arrhythmic"? That's why it's so fucking cool you moron! You might as well throw away every free jazz album ever made while you're at it.
Obviously this person has no tolerance for A: music that is even slightly challenging or B: music that sounds dated.
This speaks for itself:
"Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking Self-indulgent, derivative pap from the most overrated so-called "alternative" band. "Hey guys, are we metal, goth, or art-school?" These poseurs are neither shocking nor original."
What a fucking plonker.
Will I ever reach 1000?

"Has anyone actually listened to this album all the way through, I mean without fast forwarding through "The Sprawl" or skipping over "Rain King" or wishing even "Teen Age Riot" was just a little bit shorter?"
'rain king' is my favorite song on the album! does this guy have ears?

Nothing Shocking was great wasn't it Tim.
Lou Reed's Transformer? I love that one. And I still listen to Dark Side of the Moon too. I know Electric is dated but I'll never let that one go!
