All I hear is "your mouth, a mile, away", over and over, and then ending on "summer". I think he definitely makes words in this song, unlike say, 'tourettes', or something. |

He sings these words, well shouts: "your mouth....AHHH!...i'm already gone....hey you know me encatuse"
But i never know if he shouts "summer" or "somewhere" at the end. |

while 'somewhere' definitely makes more sense... it sounds more like 'summer' and we all know that charles was more interested in how the lyrics sounded rather than what they 'meant' so.... im gunna say its 'summer.' |

I think it's hilarious that the most indecipherable song on the album is the only one the lyrics weren't printed for. I bet that was intentional, too.
If you really want to know, look in the Frank |

I always thought he was saying "Come on, come on, my way," or, in a reference to the Gloved One: "Sha-mon, sha-mon, my way." But I'd believe the mouth stuff, I guess.
But encatuse is not Spanish for "and I know you." At least not in the schoolbook Spanish I learned. |

I'm not too sure about the "A MILE AWAY" line, I was always convinced that FB sang:
YOUR MOUTH, MY MOUTH, I'LL BREAK YOUR MOUTH YOUR MOUTH, I'LL BREAK YOUR MOUTH MY MOUTH, I'LL BREAK YOUR MOUTH MY MOUTH, I'LL BREAK YOUR MOUTH MY MOUTH, I'LL BREAK YOUR MOUTH MY MOUTH, I'LL BREAK YOUR MOUTH MY MOUTH, I'LL BREAK YOUR MOUTH MY MOUTH, I'LL BREAK YOUR MOUTH I'M ALREADY GONE, etc......... SLAG.

I read somewhere once Frank opened with this at a gig or say a festival for the mighty Pixies in front of a few thousand people. He was so nervous about screaming so hard in front of such numbers he played with his back to the crowd.
Maybe this song doesn't do much to help the longevity of his vocal chords. Quite understandable really. |

No se is Spanish for 'I don't know', Encartuse, I am not sure what that means...

hm maybe also possibly he doesnt want to give the wrong impression, if the first pixies songs you ever head was rock music, youd probably think they are some kind of death metal band..

Idea:
Encanta: Espanol for "to enchant" Chanteuse: French for "songstress" Encantuse: Franklish (or obscure slang? We need our Romance-language friends' help!)for "enchanting songstress," i.e. "siren."
Actually, I always thought he was screaming "Hey you know me/And I do say..."

OK. I'll stop lurking this thread and come out with it.
I have always thought this song was about oral sex.
There. I said it.
