I agree two reelers, I think it's one of his best too. I can't really compre his work, because each one I love for their songs, and their differences. Yet all seem have that FB edge that makes them so similar.

Sing For Joy, Selkie Bride, Honeycomb to name the obvious few.
At the moment I'm loving Atom In my Heart. I get caught out by the chorus and it's a beautiful thing.

"Is your mind gone, are you dog tired, do you feel like you can't get no worse."
(You done it again Frank, another killer chorus)

Wait. What's this:

"You burn inside me like a star. An atom in my heart"

Isn't this song just the best.

I totaly agree two reelers, but why do I feel that everytime Frank does a new album!?

P.S. Sorry about yesterday...I get mad when I listen someone saying somethig unfair about Frank's music.

because it's true.
is it only Frank Black who has this effect. It is to me.
for some reason I just hold his work so high above all the rest.
that's the only place it deserves. the very top.

He is the Greatest. Time and the songs will prove this.

currently "at the dark end of the street" is playing in my head. isn't it an incredible anthem ? pure class, a song for the century (or decennium, that is).

and yes, "atom in my heart" strucks me also.

In 15 years, people will be playing these songs of FB's (particularly his solo stuff) as classics and as though they've always been loved. He's the closest our generation has ever come to The Beatles, except that radio has changed too much for the worse to grant him the due deserved.

Like the words to be spoken on the day of his induction into the Hall of Greats. It ain't exactly a busy place.
Well said, CoF. They're the words I can never find. But somehow know..

i'm addicted to Hit The City. my fave on the album at this moment.

the drums on that song do it for me. i wish they would have mixed them in louder. like, Surfer Rosa louder.. but then in a way having them more subdued gives the song this pent-up energy

Hit the City is my favourite on the album too.
Good album, but not enough for Honeycomb!

P.S. Wedding dress is also very good!

Isn't that a cover of some blues legend's song?

I still believe in the excellent joy of the Frank
