So I was at a bookstore yesterday and was flipping thru the end of the year issue of spin and it had like a two page article on the pixies being the comeback band of the year.They interview frank black in it and this is the best part....
The writer asks- Will u release another pixies record ? FB- I mean I guess, that's what a band does right ? They tour and then record. (I'm paraphrasing)
He sounds optimistic about a new record, Im keeping my fingers crossed.
Coool!!!!! I don't think they were really a comeback because they broke up at the top of their game and returned even better... but you now what it's great to see them get the official recognition that us fans have known they deserve all along.
that's an awesome interview. classic pissed off frank. spin calls him on him as saying in another interview that "there's no way spin liked the pixies." the interviewer told him that, considering they put them on the cover, the remark ruffled a lot of feathers. frank responded with a "fuck it." he then said that his feathers get ruffled every time he releases a new record because all the reviews have to mention his 42 inch waistline.
i love that man.
