It's a wonderful life, isnt it?
I had the idea of just writing down all the things that im thankful for, enjoy, or have just been really good. So i decided, why not put it on the forunm instead? then people could write about whats good in their lifes....which will equal a happy forum. (hopefully)
Alot of members on here seem to of had it rough this past year, and, even if it doesnt seem like there is anything good, it really helps if you just have a list of all of the good things in your lifew in front of, helps put things in perspective.
Im just gonna put 6 things for now.
NO NEGATIVITY IS ALLOWED IN THIS THREAD ! - just concentrate on the good.
- I have a wonderful mother who loves me unconditionally
- I have a bed. somewhere to go home every night
- I can listen to music when ever i want
- I have friends who i love
- Im in a stage in my life where im beginning on the journey to get to my dreams of what i want to do with my career
- Im in a relationship with the nicest man i have ever met
This thread is dedicated to El Barto
Now I do as I please and lie through my teeth. Someone might get hurt but it won't be me. I should probably feel cheap but I just feel free and a little bit empty. No it isn't so hard to get close to me. There will be no arguments. We will always agree. And I will try and be kind when I ask you to leave. We will both take it easy. But if you stay too long inside my memory, I will trap you in a song tied to a melody and I will keep you there so you can't bother me. |

A kind person stole the snow chains out of my truck last week, unwittingly providing me with a splendid opportunity to purchase chains of higher quality. His theft will also help to stimulate the local economy. |

My wonderful, caring, understanding, funny, smart, sex god husband My family... who I love and means so much to me To be 30 and still have 3 grandparents I love that are still alive- a blessing My health A new job which I like better than any other job I've had in the past To be over the fact I need a job to make my life To have a life To be lucky enough to take yoga 3x a week To have an apartament and a car To finally have the right combo of things that make me healthy mentally and physically A spirtual grounding Self awareness To live in a cool place with cool radio stations To live in a liberal state The greatest band reformed Some amazing person who helped get me tix for that band's first show To see this band three times To have made new friends from this forum To still be able to dream To still think for myself To have the power to choose what happens to me and my body To have not "sold out" To laugh To poke fun at myself To still have a loving heart To have paried in my younger days To be aging gracefully yet still know how to have fun and go crazy To be able to look in to the eyes of a person and not see color, social status, gender, ethnicty, sexual orientation To have the stength and experience to know when to run when I am not being treated right To have quit smoking And to know... not in the forseeable future will I have to worry about not having a place to live or food to eat

This year: • I've bought my own house, so no more dealing with scumbag landlords • I have two thoroughly entertaining and gorgeous cats • I've rediscovered my passion for music - largely due to finally seeing the Pixies live for the first time • I've had some ridiculously good fun • I work with people I love • Porn now only accounts for 20% of my work • I've met some fascinating people both here and out in the real world
I thought I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it was just some b*stard with a torch, bringing me more work. |

2. Maaike my girlfriend, who makes me feel special. And my loving family 3. I just started a band with people who don't really care that I'm the boss (not like springsteen though) 4. I'm having a party saturday and many people are coming, they are my friends and if they don't come they'll have a good reason and even if they don't they still call, and even if they don't call etc. Let's just say I have friends who show up, wonderful people

hehe. I'd show up Jop, if I were invited. And lived in the Netherlands.
"Seventh Seal" - The church painter is explaining why he is painting a mural about death.
Church Painter: Why should one always make people happy? It might be a good idea to scare them once in a while. Jons: Then they'll close their eyes and refuse to look. Church Painter: They'll look. A skull is more interesting than a naked woman. Jons: If you do scare them... Church Painter: Then they think. Jons: And then? Church Painter: They'll become more scared. |

Clergyman upset 'the Damned' gets to turn on X-mas lights
Associated Press Nov. 18, 2004 08:40 AM
CAMBRIDGE, England - An English clergyman doesn't want a "Damned" Christmas.
The Rev. Stephen Leeke is criticizing officials in Cambridge for inviting the aging punk band, the Damned, to switch on the city's Christmas lights.
He says the Damned aren't known for looking at the positive side of life or Christian principles. Their songs from the mid-'70s include "Problem Child," "Smash It Up" and "Suicide." He says perhaps the Damned should turn off the Christmas lights instead. |

Ah - I can see how this would be confusing.
I used to be a webmistress for an adult site and the design work I do all used to be of an "adult nature" but now that I am working for a sister company due to internal poaching, I now work on proper stuff.
Make no mistake I am not offended by the adult stuff, in fact was one of the most liberating life choices I've ever made. If I had more time I'd give you my full verdict on the porn industry and why I chose to work in it, but that'll have to do for now.
The naked ladies are calling me.
I thought I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it was just some b*stard with a torch, bringing me more work. |

Oh and the reason I am happy is that now I can finally build a portfolio of work that won't potentially frighten future interviewers.

Oh I see. Its all much clearer now. I can imagine it made quite fascinating work, but see your reasons for wanting to move away from it.

Indeed - though it's huge fun when meeting snobby wanky "media" types and they do the "so what do you do question" to retaliate with the "I work in porn" and watch their faces.

My band is playing a pretty big show that's being promoted very well by the best if our local radio stations. I guess that's good all though it seems the band is falling apart.
I don't generally get the feeling that I completely hate all my friends as much anymore.
I'm pretty healthy.
My ex seems to have moved far away so maybe I won't get toyed with her at random quite as much.
I may finally finish my album and maybe some people will listen to it or even like it.
I found out the old guitarist in my band is now as much of an alcoholic as I am. This really makes me laugh as he used to be completely straight edge, was always a complete dick to me and referred to me as "the alcoholic"
The drummer in my band and one of my closest friends didn't die from pneumonia when he was in the hospital suffering from it the last few weeks, although they said he was really close.
Another close friend didn't die when she struck an 18 wheeler going 60mph and she seems to have a rather positive outlook.
I may be able to help out a very unfortunate young girl that was just diagnosed with leukemia by helping to organize a benefit concert. I hope to get this put together soon and hopefully make a nice chunk of change for her.
