now how did i know you'd be listening to that one?!
you've heard a live version, right? |

I've heard plenty live versions, but I am wondering if there are any live versions floating around with Lyle? I've heard quite a few with Rich and others, but I'm just not sure I have any with Lyle playing.

i think i'm missing a Lyle 'All My Ghosts', too.
Frank says Rich.G joined the band a few months before the June'98 Pearl Jam gigs and the earliest All My Ghosts '98 I have is in May, which sounds like Rich.G to me.
Lyle played (maybe his last appearance) June 22nd. We need to track this gig down along with any gig from late 1997. I know they're out, but not who has them.
It would be good to nail the exact date Rich started touring, and if/when Lyle and Rich alternated gigs before Workman finally flew the nest. |

this song was in my dream last night....CRAZY!!!
.......it's gonna be a great day!
CULT OF RAY
What is there to say ? Still I can`t be silent Hear the cult of Ray And you`ll be enlightened People, they`re no fun I saw Raymond speak one time, he said hello And as he opened up my mind, so fried and battered I heard his words so very fine so high above this constant dripping chatter Young sharks feeding on the scrapple And upstarts feeding on your Adam`s apple And you can`t hear yourself in all this babble And are you feeling role strain Melting rock into metal Melting rock into metal Melting rock into metal again ?

"down to you" just came on random on the ol' iPod. the segment between the first and second chorus totally makes this song. it'd be interesting, with a large possibility of being great, to hear the catholics tear through a few of these nashville songs.

CALISTAN!
Went in from the weather when I got wheezy I play some pachinko I play pachisi And St. Anne is still making it breezy In the valley of tar that once was L.A.
And my best friend he's the king of karaoke He struck up a chord and he took it away Out of the pan And into Japan 'Round there, Calistan way
Used to be sixteen lanes Used to be Juan Wayne Used to Mexican Used to be Espano Nuevo Used to Navajo Used to be yippie-ay-I-don't know

been listening to "go find your saint"
I have been feeling restless and lonely lately and this song is a song of loss but also reaching out for help
it also has this nice warm vibe to it and a nice little riff

From the Golem book:
Florian loved Miriam her reddish brown he thinks of her smelling myrrh and her reddish brown when he went down
I love when you play with your colors, Fu.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

Santo's great. Reading the above made me dig out the B Sides cd. Just listened to Bailey's Walk - perhaps the most extreme Frank vocal ever. Is it brilliantly unhinged or just bad? Not sure, but it's a good tune anyway.
Godspeed
I used to not love baileys walk, brick is red, and navajo know but now i play them far more than many of the songs on the best of.

I like it when my mum recognises the songs I play and likes them. Handyman, Dirty Old Town,....
Here's another that's soothing my sunday right now. Eve of Destruction. |
