Sing it with me...
Coming in from London From over the pole Flying in a big airliner Chickens flying everywhere around the plane Could we ever feel much finer?
CHORUS: Coming into Los Angeles Bringing in a couple of keys Don't touch my bags if you please Mister Customs Man
There's a guy with a ticket to Mexico No, he couldn't look much stranger Walking in the hall with his things and all Smiling, said he was the Lone Ranger
CHORUS
Hip woman walking on a moving floor Tripping on the escalator There's a man in the line And she's blowing his mind Thinking that he's already made her
CHORUS
Coming in from London From over the pole Flying in a big airliner Chickens flying everywhere around the plane Could we ever feel much finer? |

Hi to everyone on this board
My favourite Frank Black track is "Winterlong"
This is just beautiful, absolutely beautiful.
The skill in writing this is a credit to "FB"
I especially love his breathy vocal on this song, his vocal range is amazing.
God Bless All Here

Yo Vasily. God is love!
Oh, and it was Kim and Joey who wrote Winterlong, not Frank. |

Hey Guitar Man, I thought Neil Young wrote Winterlong and Charles and his old band just cover it.

Yeah, Neil wrote it, and Frank and Kim sing it. I believe it's "I've Been Waiting For You" (another Neil cover) that Kim and Dave sing together.

Er, Yeah.
Next you'll be telling me Leonard Cohen wrote "I Can't Forget".
I was listening to Go Find Your Saint like ten minutes ago. Didn't get all the way to the end. What I love about it is I dropped 'Living On Soul' in it's place. Burstin'! |

I went climbing up a weedy hill Just to see what I could see and far below a hindu shrine where I go from time to time
I thought we'd loose control And end up in the freezing cold
The sax in "The Snake" And I just laughed when the band and you pleaded. A pig or a goat, well they wouldn't let you be mistreated
Got divorce papers and we put down the ink
the guitar in Places Named After Numbers and Old Black Dawning. (a different kinda love)
the intensity of So Hard To Make Thing Out
the poetry of Sing for Joy
it's all good homies all good, (except for violet and 666 and when he covered a James Brown song ((Mother Popcorn I believe)) he was fooling himself on that one.

I actually haven't heard it in awhile. But I remember before I lost the CD that it seemed kinda out of place for the CD. I think it is a cover right? I just don't really like his covers because I tend to like all the songs he makes better then anything else out there period. I do like "Do Nothing" though, that was a good cover. |

Yeah, it's a cover of a song by Larry Norman, Christian rocker and originator of the phrase "Come on pilgrim, you know he loves you!"
"If you doze much longer, then life turns to dreaming. If you doze much longer, then dreams turn to nightmares." |

Oh yeah, SONG OF THE SHRIMP, I love singing along to that one
listenin' to CHANGING OF THE GUARDS..lovin the idea of out with 2005 and in with 2006!
Hey Guitar Man, it's gotta be 5:30 p.m. (official drinking time for non-alcoholics) somewhere (maybe even in Stafford, huh!) how 'bout we revise the name of this thread just for NEW YEAR'S EVE to something like..."WHAT YOU DRINKING TO WHICH FRANK SONG"......
...'cause you know Frank songs go so well with whiskey and beers, especially on New Years Eve...

Well Oldman, here we are. On the cusp of 2006. Just been to the pub singing "Kicked in the Taco" in my head while I supped on a jar. Under 6 hours to go here. The Countdown begins.

James Blunt?!? WTF?
I'm not listening to any Frank right now, but I have a Scotch and there's bits of My Life Is In Storage playing in my head. What a combination...
Here is hoping for a cool 2006. With lots of Frank Black. And some Skotch, too! |
