Selkie Bride

I just love the shift from minor to major, changing the mood of the song as it goes.
And then there's the sea at the end. A little slice of inspiration. Good one, Frank.

It's a nice day to be a Frank Black fan.

Just wonderin Daisy, are you depressed, sad, and / or a little blue?

Whenever I'm feeling a little down I always gravitate toward Black Letter Days, the album, and it feels so appropriate. And then if feeds on itself, because the more I listen to BLD, the album, the more depressed, sad, blue and down I feel. Which is fine with me (I'm trying to acknowledge and accept my emotions more these days than I did in the past).

BLD, the album, = Very Powerful Stuff

Dog Gone, babies.

One time I played and sang this song on an acoustic guitar for a manager we used to have. Having never heard it before, he lost his mind- thinking I had written it. I could see the dollar signs in this guys eyes until I broke the news. The news is gonna break for everyone, someday.

I'm pretty sure I crapped my pants.... Yep.

Men in Black

lovin' it 'cause I just returned home after a very exciting college basketball game wherein
my Vanderbilt University Commodores just beat the University of Oregon Ducks (sorry Frank, like you really care, but I really do!)[ http://vucommodores.com and http://goducks.com ]
with a last second shot from Senior Guard Mario Moore just inside the half-court line, huh!

Dog Gone is incredible, especially Frank's vocal. Definitely my favorite on that album.

I come into work and I need to hear "Sunday Sunny Mill Valley Groove Day" pretty much every morning to kick off the grind. Seems to help.

I also have been getting into 21 Reasons lately. I'm a total sucker for outros. Number 13 Baby is my favorite Pixies song mostly because the outro is so cool, and I also gush over "Manitoba" (the horns are sublime, and then the guitar finish is perfection).

Ok, so I've been listening to a lot of Frank songs lately. But who hasn't?

NIMROD'S SON

lovin' it 'cause I was able to work it in to a virtual story about Frank Black walking into a bar...http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14995&whichpage=1

which by the way, in my opinion, is the Zenith of threads here at fb.net...[sorry fbc, "What Frank Song You Listening To" has just moved back one slot to my 2nd fave, I'm sure you understand]

"...My sister held me close
And whispered to my Bleeding head
"You are the son of a mother fucker"

My image spoke to me
Yes to me and often said
"You are the son of incestuous union"

Ha-ha Ha-ha
The joke has come upon me"

VAMOS

lovin' it 'cause it ain't creepy or weird to me at all...

I guess creepyness and weirdness is most often in the eye of the Accuser, huh...

you know it sun bitch! just got back from holidays in sunny FLA! just read that said thread. those first few pages really cracked me up! getting pissed in a virtual bar with frank! that's superb! and nice pics of the sunset.

listening to the swimmer. reminds me of FLA. i think it might be about some folk singer who drowned off the coast of florida. but maybe not. great tune nonetheless.

So long as it doesn't interfere with your posts here.

There's not enough hours in the day for enough Fb related listening as it is.
Don't be too preoccupied, though. The music man, it's all about the music and loving it.

Now tell me who's that writing....

Coming to Los Angeles
This one's new to me (which is why I'm listening to it
over and over). I got it from sendmesomefrank. I sure
wish I had the lyrics....there's one spot that's driving me
crazy! Something about a chicken....
