I'm being lame and posting a reply to my own thread. Do you guys think they're doing this to plug the Zevon CD? Dave was/is a HUGE Zevon fan, he used to fill in as band leader when Paul was out sick or on vacation. A few months before he died Dave had him on for 3 or 4 segments, playing and talking. You could tell the two of them were good friends, it was really touching. I'm really hoping this will be the live debut of ATPAA.

WOOOHOOO! Cant wait. I would love to hear them play the Zevon song. They should get 2 songs anyway or 2 nights. I was hoping they would get the White Stripes/Conan treatment from somebody and play more than one night.

Dave's one word of advice for the Pixies when they played his NBC show in '92: "outfits".
I think the speculation about "Ain't That Pretty At All" is right on the money. Can't wait to see it, thanks for the tip dayanara.

If anyone lives in the area you can probably get in to see them if you try hard enough. There are always stand-by tickets to be had, but start watching the show if you haven't before so you'll get the trivia questions they ask you correct. Even if you can't get inside, there's only one exterior door that leads backstage, so you could always wait outside and ambush the band. Taping starts at 5:30. Stalk away.

Go really early and look for college age kids with clip boards walking around outside the theater. They're interns working for the show and it's their job to hand out tickets. I'd kill to be there with you. Dave and Frank, my two greatest loves together under one roof...it's almost too much for a girl to handle.

Hey Thomas. I'll be setting my dish network DVR as well (aren't they fantastic?). You probably already know this (but just in case you don't or forgot) make sure to about 5 minutes to the recording time. The Late Show tends to run over and you would hate to only have the first few moments of the band.

Actually I added ten minutes just to be extra sure.

And yes I love mine. I'm still used to calling it a PVR. I've had it for a few years now and I don't know what I'd do without it. Imagine if you will. Pixies concert on the 12 of Dec or Survivor finaly 12 of Dec. Which do you choose. Thanks Dish Network for making the choice so easy.

I keep getting scared I'm going to forget about this the night it's on. I need to stick a massive piece of paper near the tv or something to make sure I remember.

Just a little pseudo-update: Adam Sandler is on the night after the Pixies, and he's singing "Werewolves of London," the cover he did for the Zevon album. So since it looks like Dave is in fact having people on just to promote the tribute record, maybe that's a good sign we'll get ATPAA. Fingers crossed.

Remember when they let Paul Schaeffer take an organ solo. Brilliant. Does anyone have a tape of that? Saw them at the Hammerstein tonight, looked like they were truly having a blast up there. Interview PLEASE. The whole show should be a full on Pixies festival hour.

I'm not that familiar with beggars group so I don't know how reliable they are. Everything I've got still says the 14th and has Kate Beckinsale, Ciara, and Missy Elliott on the 16th. The official site should be updated sometime tomorrow, so I guess that will settle things. http://www.cbs.com/latenight/lateshow/show_info/index.shtml Monkey is the LAST song I want to hear them play. Just about anything but that, please.
