Have a good Thankgiving and safe travels!!!!!!

How is/was your turkey day?

Not too happy for the millions of turkeys who are essentially tortured and then killed. They've been bred to be so large they cannot reproduce naturally. They also feed them cats and dogs:

Cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie sound nice tho! I like mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy too. =)

This is ridiculous. Looks like the article comes from theonion.com or something. Does anyone here really believes they feed turkeys with cats who died from cancer?
That said, I agree with Dave on the terrible conditions in which the animals are bred.

It´s better not to eat them...everyone would be more happy, people and turkeys!
I don´t know about the article, but I know they are very bad treated, that they feed them night and day so that they can be very fat in a short period of time, they can´t even sleep, it´s just horrible!

Happy Thankfulness day, kids! Greetings from Vermont.

I hope you are all happy today. I believe we are all pretty lucky and I am thankful for the people I love and all that corny stuff. And I am thankful to the forum for two of my best friends.

Happiness to to you and yours.

Wow that article was interesting, Dave. The turkey we ate was range fed and organic. But I didn't know they fed that stuff to farm salmon and shrimp. I knew that they fed dead animals to pigs and I don't eat pork...or veal for a (since I was 20 and 11 respectively) long time... so that is all very interesting as I am eating less meat day by day and eventually will proably only eat fish and chicken sometimes.

Anyway hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving... the highlight was the pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce. My uncle also made some really good stuffing with apples and chili's in it so that was so good too.

Definately a good time to relfect and give thanks for what we all are so lucky to have. :) I give thanks for my friends and family, for finally having a job I like, and for having a roof over my head... I am also thankful I got to see the Pixies 3 times when I never thought I would live to see them.

Happy Thanksgiving all of you FB.netters out there. Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. Mine was strange, at best. Family functions always end up like that though. I enjoyed myself nonetheless, however. Stuffed my face full of turkey and stuffing. Ah, food.

That article seems like a bunch of horse shit. That being said, I ate a lot of delicious roadkill-filled turkey yesterday. Mmmmmmmm....love that turkey.

I had a pretty good Thanksgiving.

Doesn't "Turkey Day" sound like it should be a Turkish national holiday? You know, like their equivalent of Canada Day?

Okay, maybe I'm just crazy.

Don't you Brits celebrate Harvest Festival? That's pretty much the same thing as Thanksgiving, but without all the stupid pilgrim and Indian hats.

Didn't the Puritans refuse to celebrate Christmas? That makes modern American society's link between Thanksgiving and Christmas kind of ironic, or something.

meh. We dont have any meaningless celebrations...(apart form the fact we celebrate st.patricks, yet not st. george...hmmm).

I think the real reason there is an obessity problem in america (not sayng that there isnt one here, but not to the same extent) is all because you have 2 christmas'!!!!

It's because you're more afraid of snakes than of dragons.

By the way, how can Thanksgiving be a second Christmas? There's no exchanging of gifts!

Oh my, im so sorry i did not realise the quite obviously clear distinction between the two...there was me thinking turkey, family, supposed to be in a good mood all day....i thought it all was quite similar, i was clearly mistaken though. please, please forgive my stupidity.

Now I do as I please and lie through my teeth. Someone might get hurt but it won't be me. I should probably feel cheap but I just feel free and a little bit empty. No it isn't so hard to get close to me. There will be no arguments. We will always agree. And I will try and be kind when I ask you to leave. We will both take it easy. But if you stay too long inside my memory, I will trap you in a song tied to a melody and I will keep you there so you can't bother me.
