My last several: The Wrens \ Secaucus Arcade Fire \ Funeral Midlake \ Bamnan & Slivercork *really good Wilco \ Being There FBF Pleasant Grove \ Auscultation of the Heart Silver Jews \ The Natural Bridge The Flaming Lips \ Yoshimi... Broken Social Scene \ You Forgot it in People
Highly recommend all of the above, except Secaucus which is still in the mail, but I bet it is good based on the Meadowlands cd.

All better now thanks! A slow blow fuse was the culprit, however the amp sat on a workbench for week before the technician gave it a clean bill of health... AARRGH. See you in a couple of weeks hammerhands!

Yesterday's purchases: * Joanna Newsom - Milk Eyed Mender: actually it's a present for my sister but I think I'll make me a copy. Good record. * X - Los Angeles: I'm on the 1st listen but it sounds great. I bought a bunch of awesome punk CDs this year: Wire, X, Cramps, Television, Clash, Buzzcocks, Mekons... * V/A - Manos Arriba!: a compilation of Mexican electronic music. I listened to it yesterdya and it really is terrible... but the last song's called "Frank Black Really Rocks". I'll try to transcribe the lyrics and post them.

Not bought, but blagged Death Above 1979 - You're a Woman, I'm a Machine and Hermano - Dare I say.
Death from Above is awesome noise. Just a bass guitar and drums - insane - I love it.
I thought I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it was just some b*stard with a torch, bringing me more work. |

Cool birthday list, Darwin.
Today I bought Johnny Cash: "Live At Folsom Prison" and "At San Quentin", and The Clash: "Rude Boy" on DVD (didn't think I'd ever come across this around here! It made my day.)
"Just kill the one with the sword first." "Ah," Reagan says, raising his waxed and penciled eyebrows, and cocking his pompadour in Shaftoe's direction. "Smarrrt--you target them because they're the officers, right?" "No, fuckhead!" Shaftoe yells. "You kill 'em because they've got fucking swords! You ever had anyone running at you waving a fucking sword?" |

I was bought the latest Muse album and Nirvana Unplugged (replacing my lost one) for Christmas. The Muse album is a lot better than I thought it would be, easily their best so far.
I have also ordered the Dresden Dolls album and all 4 Glitter Mini 9 albums on the internet.
Before that, the last ones I bought were Interpol's 'Antics' and Kings Of Leon's 'Aha Shake Heartbreak'. Both excellent.
Help me! He keeps making me post!

My Prerogative has just ended. Now it's Toxic. And I must say I find the idea of writing on the FB forum while listening to Britney quite funny. The Best Of comes as a 2-CD set, the second one including a couple of remixes. It's one of the worst things I've ever heard. But the 1st CD is pretty cool. I wouldn't say it's 100% great (they included her cover of I Love Rock 'n' Roll which is awfully shitty) but I like it all in all. Oh, they could've put more photos in the booklet. Or perhaps I should've asked for the DVD.

I bought two CDs for $5 each today. One was the Beatles' Let It Be, which I didn't have yet. The other was a Robyn Hitchcock album, of which I forget the title.

They are actually a drummer and a bass player, no guitar, but yeah the bass is kinda synthy in parts.
It's not actually out over here but Surfer_Rosa sent me a copy (her friend works for Kerrang), and yeah it's very good. She is mad about them, as I'm sure you'll here when she returns.
I ordered two Le Tigre albums and the first New Pornographers album the other day off Amazon. Can't wait for them to arrive. I like ordering CD's off the net. It's like getting presents when they arrive.
