Today's random song of the day is U-Mass.

What do you think of it?

lyrics
In the sleepy West
Of the woody East
Is a valley full
Full o' pioneer

We're not just kids
To say the least
We got ideas
To us that's dear

Like capitalism
Like communism
Like lots of things
You've heard about

And redneckers
They get us pissed
And stupid stuff
It makes us shout

Oh dance with me
Oh don't be shy
Oh kiss me cunt
Oh kiss me cock

Oh kiss the world
Oh kiss the sky
Oh kiss my ass
Oh let it rock

Of the april birds
And the may bee
Oh baby

It's educational

University
Of Massachusetts, please
And here's the last five
It's educational

Adam

It's a Pixies headbanger. Let it out and scream up your guts.

It is a great song...but it is over-rated in my opinion. Why this is considered one of the "gems" of Trompe le Monde I'll never know...

Above average song. But not one of the best.

It has all the ingredients, but it's just too trite sounding for me. I'm not sure what it is, but it has never been one of my favorites. That said, it's still better than many other bands' songs, just not one of the greatest pixies tunes, in my opinion.

Maybe it just needs more "cowbell".

I never paid attention to that one, but after hearing it live... I've changed my mind. Anyway, I still prefer the Disclive recordings to TLM version. Frank's screaming rocks!

I don't know what it did on death to the pixies
nor the best of the pixies reunion shows

that being said
I like the song
but as CroutonFuton stated
why it's treaded like one of the highlights on Trompe
is a mystery

"I joined the Jon Tiven/Bye!"

I agree with Crouton and Bill as far as this song being overrated. Not a bad song by any means, but why does the band prefer it over stuff like "Motorway To Roswell"?

seeing as everyone seems to think it's overrated, where exactly are those who actually overrate it?

Well, I get the idea that four of them are named Charles, Kim, David, and Joey.

"Redneckers"? I need to clean my ears. I always thought he sang "Redneck girls." Makes more sense, but who says "redneckers?" Charles Thompson, apparently ... :)

Great song. Actually, it's MY favorite from Trompe Le Monde.
