Given some recent personal stuff both on and off the board, i'm checking out for a little while. I am not starting this post to draw any attention, i just want the CD-traders and people i have current ticket transactions with to know that i will still be reading the boards and keeping up with the CD mixers and whatnot and that i will still be available via email. i really enjoy the board and will miss posting for the next few weeks (at least) but i don't want my frustration in this part or any part of my life to leak into my enjoyment of the board, so i'm taking a "posting hiatus." best of luck, talk to you guys in a little while i hope

Crap Brian, I'd completely forgotten about your email. Anyway, the ticket is yours officially, I just have to get my cc bill to see what the damage is.
Also, don't feel bad about the Honeycomb thread, I completely think that you didn't do anything wrong. Anyway, hope to see 'ya around.

I´m very sorry to know that something like this is happening, I think you shouldn´t leave because of what happened with the Honeycomb thread. My opinion is completly unfair!

and to be honest i don't dig at all the blackmail attitude "i give info, you buy cds". he's too paranoid and tactless about this, in a way that i think even frank would find annoying IMO.

Sorry to hear this Brian. The one day I fail to read that Honeycomb thread it all goes crappy. From what I can tell from what others have said (I missed your posts), you were well within your rights and as this is not even an "official" fan site, I don't understand how anyone could make demands on members to censor their reasonable comments. IMHO, if there were honest concerns about something particular on the other party's side, I think they could have been articulated in a more egalitarian and diplomatic manner.
If Frank looks to this forum for feedback (as he has in the past) I don't think he wants to read a bunch of "Yes Men" responses to his work. We aren't FB's advertising crew for goodness' sake. That said, Honeycomb was leaked unfinished, and a certain amount of sensitivity can be expected. How can anyone demand honest fan concerns be silenced though? A healthy thriving fan site allows for respectful voicing of opinion. A relatively new and awkward management issue. I don't remember what the official response to SMYT's leak and subsequent fan reviews was... Oh well, sorry for all the babble. To summarize, I don't think that was handled wisely. This is a friendly place! grrr! 
I'm looking forward to hearing your mix CD Brian. I hope the real-life, off-board stuff settles out for you.

I'm in a state of mild panic, I have to go run a DNA gel tomorrow and I have lost my lab-coat, I'm wondering if I can get away with wearng a radiation suit.

That said, I've always found you to be a reasonable and cool guy, so I have no doubt that what was said was fair and honest. In which case, it has as much right to be said as anything posted here, from Frnk Blck's quicky answers to floop's quesadilla/frozen pizza-based ramblings. Don't stay away too long.

Why is it such a big deal to get information before everyone else gets it? I mean, eventually everyone is going to know all these "precious, inside info facts" that people treat as if they're solid gold quesadillas.
The dude Jon is gone to make all of us feel like we are missing a great source for inside information, and yeah, we probably are missing out on a few facts we can't get anywhere else, but is that big of deal?
Eventually we'll know all the details about Honeycomb, doesn't anyone believe in patience anymore?
And Brian, you've no reason to banish yourself form the forum. I'd think the general consensus of the members is we'd rather have YOU around then getting super-cool, priviledged inside info that will all be common knowledge after a year anyway.
Just my opinion that no one reads anyway...
