I don't know about the rest of the fb dot netters out there eat sandwiches, I know I do quite frequently.
But there is this one sandwich that I eat that I think is weird, and I was wondering if anyone else had anything weird I could try.
Here's my weird sandwich:
Bread, I like a sub-roll for this sandwich Mustard and Mayonaise on it one layer of roast beef 2 handfuls of Lays Potato Chips crushed into the sandwich with your hands then another layer of roast beed and mayo and mustard and then 1 more handful for Lays Potato Chips and then you squish it all together and eat it...
If I have cheese, sometimes I'll throw that on there too.
I am eating one of these gems right now, it's fucking delicious.
So, give me some ideas.
(bagel, cream cheese, bacon, pepperoni and mayonaise is already taken)

that's pretty weird.
i love a good sandwich but i usually don't make them because i got out of the habit of buying bread. unless you use your bread right away, it just goes bad, and you're always throwing out bread. same for other sandwich ingredients.
lately i've been craving a good sandwich though.

Well Floop, when we go golfing I'll be sure to pack us one of these gems, you'll love it.

Oh yeah, the other night I had a sandwich: toast, mayo, pepper, bacon, american cheese and white onion. That shit was good and a little bit different than a BLT. |

My fav sandwich used to be peanut butter, lettuce, had to be real crispy though, and ready salted (sometimes salt and vinegar) crisps. This is best in a french stick normally.

Oh my lord that sounds SOOO good...
I dunno the only weird sandwich technique that I have is making my own Honey mustard sauce...It's just as easy as it sounds.
I do however dip my french fries in my ice cream, I also used to eat my hot dogs with honey. Hmmm...
I have yet to try the whole pixie-stick cheetos sandwich. Now I just slather hot sauce all over everything I eat.

It is hard to get a good sandwich in this country. I remember gettign soem good ones in Australia though, they really load it with grated salad. Very healthy, no wonder they are all so fit.

New Zealand is the same way. I was there a year ago and pretty much all I ate were their sandwiches. My favourite was pulled chicken, hardboiled egg, cranberry sauce, ham, lettuce, onion, tomatoes, mayo. So good....

I eat the same lunch every single weekday, a Honey-roasted turkey sandwhich, with lettuce, tomatoe, spicy mustard, and hot peppers. If I have any swiss or provelone, it gets heaped up on there.

Mmmmmmmm, hundred dollar sandwich...
A cheesesteak prepared by Barclay Prime's executive chef Todd Miller is pictured at the restaurant in Philadelphia Tuesday Oct. 5, 2004. This version of the traditional Philadelphia sandwich, made with Kobe beef, melted Taleggio cheese, shaved truffles, sauteed foie gras, caramelized onions and heirloom shaved tomatoes on a homemade brioche roll bushed with truffle butter and squirted with homemade mustard, is served with a small bottle of champagne and sells for $100 at Stephen Starr's Barclay Prime opening Tuesday. That cheese looks less than appetizing, if you ask me. BLECH!
But I bet is tastes good.

That picture makes me think of the steak sandwiched you get on Camden High Street, from the hole-in-the-wall guys near the market. Darned tasty, but dammit if the chili sauce gets on your clothes every time.

A BLT on toasted wheat with Kraft "Creamy Poppyseed" dressing rather than mayo. I love this stuff and have been putting it on everything since I discovered it.
Coldheart, I'm a hotsauce freak too...on cheeseburgers, pizza...just whatever.
Floop - keep your bread in the fridge - lasts for weeks.

or popcorn. I like a brand called "Tiger Sauce". Not too spicy, but a nice blend of sweet/hot. |

A lot of people have eaten peanut butter and banana sandwiches but when they hear that I have always had it with mayonnaise,(or maybe I should say "Miracle Whip") that weirds them out. Pretty tasty IMO. I think my mom was a peanut butter maniac. We also had PB & cheese and the strangest was PB & pickles.

I made a sandwich the other day which had mayo, lettuce, onion, sauteed squash and zucchini, whole Snyder brand Jalapeno potato chips, cheese, and pastrami. It was delicious.
I really think the crushed chips on sandwiches is a good idea.

I am with you paintmeister... my fave is somewhat similar.
Wheat bread, peanut butter (low fat), banana chips... it's my ode to Elvis and the fried peanut butter & banana sandwich. |

it doesn't seem to last even in the fridge. unless you buy shitty Wonder bread or whatever, that has tons of preservatives.
maybe part of the problem is that i usually shop at Whole Foods, which doesn't use a bunch of preservatives in their food.
my old roommate and i used to joke that the bread there would start molding in your hand while you were waiting in the check out line.
not far from the truth

thin sliced pork tenderloin on a whole grain sub roll, w/ horseradish, mayo, and texas pete hot sauce...
it's really good, especially when you are starving...

What type bread do you get there? We buy "Birdland", and it lasts for a while in the fridge, but yeah, the bread drawer slays it though. Birdland is yummy - lots of seeds, very good flavor and texture. Sometimes they are out for days, so we have taken to buying a few loaves and keeping backup in the deep freeze. It's THAT good. |

I go to a little deli every now and then and I get a D's Berry Best. White Bread with Salsalito Turkey, Alfalfa Sprouts, Champagne Cranberry Preserves, Mayo and American Cheese. Not too strange, but I usually get cheese steak sandwiches.

i don't remember. it's been that long since i've been on my anti-buying-bread kick. i think i might be confusing it with Trader Joes too.. either way, whatever it was, it would start molding in like 2 days. no joke.

last night i barbequed this gigantic piece of pork tenderloin (marinated in this awesome Asian marinade recipe i have).. and today i have like half left over.
i walked down to the French bakery and bought a nice sized baguette, and i'm preparing to make myself a kick ass sandwich.
any suggestions on making it weird?
