Anyone going to this one? I cant wait.

If we could just get everyone to close their eyes and visualize world peace for an hour, imagine how serene and quiet it would be until the looting started.

I'm planning on seeing the Dallas show if Delta airlines will allow. I found out I have a meeting in Atlanta at 1:30pm on 19 Oct but have a flight to get back to DFW by 6:00pm. Then I have to be back in Atlanta by noon on 20 Oct. I've already missed them 3 times in Boston and once in Atlanta back in the 90's. I'm not going to miss them again, DAMMIT!!!! How will traffic be from DFW to Nokia? Thanks, Rick

I will be there. Me and the rest of my band will be in the pit. Where is everyone else sitting or are you guys in the pit? From DFW to Next Stage shouldn't be to bad today. I hope they play some stuff from Trompe and Bossanova but, just seeing the Pixies will be incredible. This will be my 3rd time to see them and just a year ago I was thinking I would never see the Pixies live. Man was I wrong. It is nice to be wrong every now and again.

What a show last night! Way better than I ever could have imagined! They were playing like they never skipped beat and it made for one helluva rockin show. I was in the pit and tried to sneak a few pictures with my digital, so I'll see how they turned out tonight when I pull them off my camera, hopefully I'll have some good ones to post for everyone.

I think everyone in the pit was sneaking pics with their phones.

Great, great show, FB seemed a bit loaded. Kim played 75% of the show facing David. It seemed she knew FB was in rare form and left the stage to him unless she needed to be on the mic. Anyone else get this impression??

Lots of highlights but I thought Cactus was transcendent...

Uh-oh, the dreaded horizontal scrollbar!

What did Kim say toward the end of "Gigantic"? Frank walked over to her and stood right in front of her, facing her as they played the outro. And then all I heard her say was "*something, something* Charles *mumble mumble*".

I was seated up on the deck where the sound was often kinda sucky (first show I've been to, I think, where my ears were NOT ringing after it was over)

I think it was "Charles told me to tell you this our last song"

and then "Charles wants me to tell you thanks for coming"

thats as close as I can get.

It was quite simply the best show I've ever been to. I got turned on to the Pixies just as they broke up. I almost went to see them open for U2 but backed out due to lack of money. A decision I've frequently kicked myself for. I never thought I'd get to see them. Last night was just awesome. I laughed, I cried, I screeeaaamed. I think I may have ruined my voice trying to hang in there with Charles. The man is a singing monster. And a genius.

Did anyone write down the set list from last night?

I didn't write down the setlist, but I do recall that the first two songs were "Debaser" and "Velouria". And I was very happy to hear them play all four of the songs from TROMPE LE MONDE that they've been playing on this tour.

Talking about it with my companions afterward, we figured out that the songs not played in Dallas (from their 40+ song repertoire) last night were "Holiday Song", "Levitate Me", "Into the White", "Broken Face", "Is She Weird", "Winterlong", "La La Love You" (though maybe that one was phased out long ago?), and "Bam Thwok" (though maybe that never became a regular?).

TONS of hot chicks were there, too. Can't forget that.

I was able to make the show after some other-worldy bullshit at DFW/Atlanta, but got there about 5 songs into the show. Was it me (my foul mood at the time) but was Joey a little off? Seemed to me he was a little late on a few songs. I was amased at the density of sound 4 people can make in the that room, near King Crimson levels. How does Frank/Charles scream his head off night after night? I was nearly hoarse by the end of the show and I didn't even see all of it... ;-) There were "hot chicks" there, but at 40, and looking more like Frank/Charles then I used to, the "hot chick" category has widened for me... ;-) Was really good to hear Kim and Charles/Frank chat and laugh with each other on stage.

OT: 2 recommendations: Never a rent a car from Enterprise or Advantage at DFW. I am trying to file charges against each. Check out the last show of Guided By Voices at Gypsy Tea Room on Nov 6. They rock, not as ferociously as the Pixes, but good rockin, lo-fi, beer-drinkin band from Kim's home town.

Excellent show! The whole band seemed to be in good spirits. Played some Bossa & Trompe stuff. I got tons of flash pictures in the pit. I was right in front of Kim and got some good ones of Charles and Joey while Joey soloed during Vamos. You can't say enough about what David Lovering brings to that band. If it wasn't for him, Bone Machine, River Euphrates, Velouria, Planet of Sound, Subbacultcha, etc. would lose some of their originality. You have got to love the backward drum beat intro to Bone Machine and the way his cymbals assault you sonically there!

$10 more for pit...what a small price to pay for such an excellent time. Although I do have a few strange bruises on me that I can't remember how they got there after the final push to the stage midway through the show!
