Elvis Costello count as a band?

Big Star, Television, The Fall, Queen, Funkadelic, there's a lot of great bands. I would say Queen is the one I've listened to the most. So yeah, Queen is my band for the 70's.

Inna zany combination of Wayne's Pet Youngin'!

The Heartbreakers. The one with Johnny Thunders. Pure rock and roll.

I don't say Queen are bad, but it's strange Frank's fans like them.
I believed you would have prefer less mainstream band.

I'm also surprised that so many people seem to like them I like I do, and I'm pleased with that, because when the music is good, it doesn't matter if it's "mainstream" or not. I mean, at that time, Queen were as famous as bands or people like Bowie, T.Rex and nobody seems to say that these ones were mainstream, although they were big and were a mass phenomenon. With the time passing by -and I know that Queen has made a lot of of shitty things in the 80's, but Bowie too- rock critics seem to forget these kind of things, and tell us that it's more tasteful to listen to T.Rex than Queen, and I really don't know why, I think it's pure snobbery.

Anyone mentioning Queen in this thread deserves to be hanged. OR maybe I should actually listen to what they did during the 70s before criticizing. But I really don't want to do that...

But I think you should. Ignorance and talking without knowing is one of the worse in the world.

Hey! I like Queen! I hate them when they were rich and famous, but time sometimes do these strange things. Maybe it's only our natural repulsion for commercial success.

Queen are good for a few cool songs on each album. Queen, in my opinion, are not a good place to go to if you want albums that are great all the way through.

Still, Brian May's guitar sound is one of my all-time favorites and I give them a few points for scoring FLASH GORDON.

This is harder than I thought, despite the 70's producing some truly awful bands that were hugely popular.

I am gonna vote for Blondie.

I don't listen to that much music from the seventies, really. I suppose I'll vote for Queen as well, though. I always figured they were one of those bands that pretty much everybody liked. Then again, I'd say the same about the Beatles, and people on this forum have dissed them as well.

It's a tie between Kraftwerk and The Residents.

Meet The Residents could pass as a weird record from the future.
