| Hey I'm kind of new here and was wondering if any of you fans from the early days will be at the Nashville show on the 6th. I met my best friend in the front row at a Pixies show in 92 and 12 years later we are getting together to see them again. He's the only other Pixies fan I have ever met. Yes I live a sheltered and strange life. I thought the last show we saw was incredible. I can't imagine them being any better. See you all in Music City. |

I'm not a fan from the early days but I'm a fan for 5 years now and I'll be there. I'd just rather be seeing the Catholics again.

I've been a FRANK BLACK fan since '93. The Pixies came later for me. I'll be driving up from Jackson, MS to see the Pixies for the first time (I've seen the catholics twice). See you in NashVegas.

Yes, I was at Memorial Gym on February 1, 1992 for the Pixies. What a great show. My wife and I attended. I was a huge fan and she liked some of their "mellow songs", e.g., Here comes your man, Hey, I believe in Space (Jefrey with 1 "f"), but didn't care too much for Black Francis' screaming and Joey's slashing / screeching guitar. However, we both loved the show. The Pixies were great and their performance of U-Mass was incredible. My wife finally understood why I enjoyed their music so much and she became a fan.
I also had the pleasure of attending the March 5, 1996 Frank Black show at 328 Performance Hall. Once again, another great show. My brother and I went together and we had a great time. We got real close to the stage, avoided the mosh pit, and rocked out all night.
Tonight, my brother and I are taking my son to the show. He's a fifth-grader and loves Frank Black (he has grown up listenting to him). I recently began sharing the Pixies with him and he loves them too. We have the new DVD and have been able to watch most of it together.
Tonight should be one of the best. The Ryman Auditorium is such a special place to see a show.

I loved it, too. I still prefer the catholics, but that was one helluva nice, quick, loud set. Admired Kim for belting out those vocals even with a worn-out throat. FB was right on, too.
Lovering really is a talent (aside from his phenomenalism and glowing pickles), and Joey was creative with the drumstick on that Les Paul.
Great show.

Incredible show. Second time seeing The Pixies (first was at Coachella). Loved the set. It amazes me that The Pixies are the only band I've had this certain feeling for when I walk out of the venue. I hear people all the time at the end of the show saying "That fucking rocked!" or "That was AWESOME!" or whatever. Every show I've ever been to (and it's been several), I've left with not-so-sure feelings. It always takes me a couple days to digest it and appreciate fully what I saw. But not with The Pixies. The moment the show was over, I was overwhelmed with the feeling that I had just seen something truly spectacular. I walk out knowing I just saw an A+ show and it never diminishes. I wish I could see them again.
They put on an INCREDIBLE show in Nashville. It wasn't as amazing as Coachella, but it was close.

I was at the Ryman show and it pumped my nads to the utmost. I sold my p.a. system to afford the “premium” tickets, but it was worth every dime. My lady and I had third row main floor seats, but because the Ryman rows curve around, I had the equivalent of a front row seat. (Sadly, Joey didn’t stand right in front of me like the Thrills guitarist did. That guy seemed sleepy or disoriented.)
I was left with a few questions that I hope you guys could clear up:
Toward the end of “Gigantic,” Kim said something that made the audience laugh. What was it?
What song got the biggest reaction? I think “Debaser” and “Gigantic” seemed to be the biggest, but all of them were pretty even. I loved how on “Hey,” I could hear everyone singing along since it’s quieter.
Did Frank mention the fact that they were playing the Ryman?
Was anyone else royally pissed that the Disclive wasn't available?
OTHER OBSERVATIONS:
This being my first Pixies show, I never realized how wildly popular Kim was. Yes, she has a great smile, but I was amazed at how she sent the crowd into a frenzy by merely singing backups. Was this mostly the females screaming, or guys too?
The white haired security guard was really busy that night.
There was an awesome long-haired dude that kept beating on the pew and whipping his hair around. He sat behind me and I wanted to give him a high-five, but I was shy.

I was at the Columbia, Mo show the night before yours. I was looking for the Disclive also and didn't find it, definitely disappointed.
