I was impressed by Kerry and disgusted by Bush.
One of the main things that makes me feel this is way is Bush's greed and Kerry's willingness to share.
If we don't start sharing our wealth, and developing it internationally, we will fall harder than Rome.
Invading Iraq the way we did, droping shitloads of bombs on them, that was dumb, and a collossal waste of money as well a collossal error in judgement.
The US can't rule the world by itself, what does that make us? A democracy or a dictatorship? Bush is a fucking dictator in my eyes, and an absolute idiot. I could do what he does, he makes it seem easy to fuck up the world. Shit, I could do that better with a joystick.
But John Kerry, no way could I come close to imitating him. He's incredibly knowledgeable and he is a war veteran, those 2 things really impress me.
And Nadar, although I really like a lot of his ideas, and I know it's a free country, should drop out of the race. I voted for him last time, but not this time. He doesn't stand a chance and all he is going to do is increase the possibility that Bush gets re-elected. He can stay if Ross Perot runs again. They'll cancel each other out that way at least.
I'll be praying for the strength to deal with Bush getting re-elected, in the meantime I sure hope Kerry does get elected. And I really hope we can make up for our mistakes and resolve this mess that Bush got us into, and save some face. I'm tired of being embarrassed to be american because my president is a fucking retard. I'm surprised no one has tried to frag his ass, but I don't think Al Qaeda or other terrorists groups really want him dead, because he's running this county into the ground, and anti-americans around the world are loving every minute of it.

Yes, KoK, we're running scared from your puffed shirts.
I have no idea what that means. All I know is that i think I'm falling in love with you.

Think "all hat no cattle". Puffed, as in empty.
That must be some shit Rush laid out on this mornings program. You could never think of that on your own. Even though you can't think for yourself, that in no way will impede my newly discovered undying love for you. Erubus my sweetness

LBF it is too late. the capitalist dictators have taken over and kerry is one of them. i do feel your pain, although our pain is nothing compared to that of the nations of people world-wide that the capitalist dictatorships have been exploiting. |

I pay no attention to Rush at all. Most of my influences are online, to include: instapundit.com; nationalreview.com; buzzmachine.com; slate.com; townhall.com; and the sites these link to as it interests me. My primary political interests are left-wing naivete regarding human nature and biases in media, academia, and public education. |

I only caught the last 20 minutes or so, but thought that Kerry probably sounded good to anyone who hasn't been paying attention to everything else he has said during the campaign. Unfortunately those are the half-wits who will decide this election.
Kerry is definitely a better speaker than Bush, so what, we knew that going into this. But everything Kerry says is total bullshit, and he has contradicted himself so many times its insane that anyone thinks he would make a good leader.
One minute he says it would be irresponsible to vote against funding the war, then he votes against it. In one breath he talks about how important it is to build better relationships with foreign leaders (and how much better he would be at this), next thing you know he is insulting and mocking Prime Minister Allawi on the Senate floor...good start Mr. Kerry.
I could come up with many more, but what's the point. Nobody is going to change their mind from reading a stupid post on a forum. These threads are a complete waste of time. I'm just sick of the whole process. I'm sick of hearing about it, reading about it, and talking about it. I'll be happy when its over. Fucking politicians are all the same anyway. I'm going to go away now...(you're welcome). |

Wow, are you reading directly from the RNC script, or were you manufactured with the talking points software pre-installed?
Oh no! Kerry is alienating allies! Irony really is dead, isn't it?
True, Allawi's a pretty stand-up guy, when he's not shooting suspects in the head (http://www.sundayherald.com/43475).
And he gives a nice speech, even if the Bush campaign wrote the speech for him(http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A60725-2004Sep29?language=printer)
And I'm sure he strongly opposed the CIA's (now officially scrapped) plan to rig the Iraqi election. (http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1101041004-702122,00.html) |

Yeah, that was thrown out a week or so ago. No longer an issue. Creepy, though. You know this shit goes down all over the country, though. The elections here are far FAR from fair and proper.
So when are we getting those international elections observers? And when is the electoral college going to be done away with?
You buttered your bread, now lie in it. |

According to a gallup poll in France :
87% french people vote for KERRY and 13% for BUSH...
In the last french presidential election, 82% for Jacques CHIRAC and 18% for Jean-Marie LE PEN (nationalist extremist).
BUSH = LE PEN ?

Yeah, have fun in China, and no one is going to "not change" their mind from "some stupid post on a forum" either, bigot.

You can read my thoughts on the debates at http://www.livejournal.com/users/vovat/68435.html, if you're so inclined. I agree that Bush came off as a moron, but did anyone expect othwerwise (aside from harringk, that is)? I mean, his repetitiveness and hypocrisy were bad enough, but what really bugged me were the two rules that Bush seemed to think the President should follow:
1. Always stick to your guns, even if you're repeatedly proven wrong. 1a. If you really, absolutely no longer have a leg to stand on, keep the same position, but change your reasons for it. 2. America is always right. Don't worry about the opinions of those loser foreign countries. After all, we can beat them up!

For what it's worth, I don't really care that much about Kerry's military service, but I DO care that the horrors of war seem to have actually affected him. Right now, the country seems to be in the hands of the only people in the country who DIDN'T learn anything from Vietnam. I like to think that Kerry did. If he wins, I guess we'll see.

As opposed to the "What's your favorite Pixies song?" and "I am the quesadilla master!" threads, which stand to influence American policy for years to come.

Bush was like a bad actor who'd forgotten his lines. We are lucky to be living in an age where we can witness the end of right wing conservative political power, hype only lasts so long and you can only motivate us with fear and hate for so long. This planet cannot bear Republicans any longer. A philosophy based on gut reactions and Hilaryphobia can only fend off truth and logic for so long. Bush will suffer a humiliating defeat and go down in history as a dangerous buffoon and the reason we got rid of the electoral college. Coming up - John trounces Dick. |

In the privacy of the voting booth a whole lot of soldiers, first responders and their families will vote Kerry, these are people who witness Bush's double standards every day. I really belive that in the privacy of the voting booth Bush will go down in flames and these narrowminded pessimistic corporate apologists will be shamed into rightfull obscurity. |

If you're talking about Hilary Duff, I think we have a REASON to be afraid.
Seriously, though, I want to agree with you, but sometimes there's no underestimating human stupidity, not to mention the influence of the rich.
