Have you guys heard of this band Soft Machine. They're an English band from the 70's(?). Picked up their album 7 yesterday and gave it a listen. This one is instramental and progressive, I guess, for the 70s. I did it.

I prefer "prog" bands like King Crimson (less jazzy, more rock), and Wyatt's solo albums than the Soft Machine's ones, although it's sometimes very funny

I've never heard Soft Machine, I love Wyatt's solo work so much, I'm sure I'd be disappointed.
I have one Matching Mole album, can't say I listen to it that much. Love how they came up with the name though.
Take this rock and shake it 'til it bleeds. |

Robert Wyatt was the original drummer of the band, he was also one of the singers and composers

i'm partial to The Ticket That Exploded, but Nova Express is a close second
