Has anyone on the forum discussed Stan Ridgway playing keyboards on Devil's Workshop? I was wondering if anyone knows which songs he plays on. Stan was the lead singer for Wall of Voodoo (Mexican Radio). He also had a great album called "The Big Heat" (Just Drive She Said, Camouflage). I haven't been keeping up with his new stuff, though. He has a real distinctive voice, and I always thought of him as more of a vocalist than a keyboard player. Frank must be a fan to have him on the new record. Anyone here a Stan fan |

Stan fan here. Always loved "Call of the West" of course, as well as "the Index Masters". Also have "the Big Heat", and the post-Stan Voodoo "Seven Days in Sammystown" (engineered by Gil Norton - 1985). I don't think there's been much discussion of the Frank-Stan connection but I'd love to learn more about it. |

I forget where I read this, but (I think it was Stan Ridgeway) apparantly the pixies once opened for him and they became friends that way or something.... search around on this board, I think there's a link to an interview where he talks about it, some brittish magazine possibly (this is really helpful, I know), but its out there, on the web.

I wish I was in tiajuana, eating bar-b-qued iguana. I make requests on the telephone, I'm on a wave-lenghth far from home.
