Hi all,

Just to let you know that I just sat down to watch the Pixies doco "Gouge" and its great!!

Its basically a chronological bio of the band with short interview grabs along the way and some live footage.

Lots of interviews including Charles, David and Joey but not Kim:(, also other musos that pop up include David Bowie, Thom Yorke, Bono and Polly Harvey (big yay to see Polly talking about the band as I love her music as well).

Also featured a few songs from live in London 1988 which were of excellent quality and (without double checking) I think copyright 4AD so they should really get off there arse and put something out there on DVD asap!

think I'll go watch it again!

all the best
Leigh

yeah i likes that doc when i saw it to. The live stuff was great, but could have done without the music critics chiming in, and more of PJ Harvey. She's a good looking girl. i saw her at reading 2001 and she looked and sounded pretty amazing. i'm just a lech though.

I thought it was very good although i was disappointed by a few things, including the aforementioned bossanova and trompe bashings. How can you knock them?????????
I was also a bit miffed that all the live clips came from the same concert, as awesome as they were.
On a happier note, some of the quotes were fantastic. I especially liked Gavin Rossdale's "I mean, uriah hit the crapper, what the hell is that" as he praised the pixies. Who can argue with that???

I think Gavin Rossdale said that the lyrics were funny "I mean, Uriah hit the crapper, thats funny isn't it? and to repeat it 5 times more as well" I found that quite amusing that he was asking if it was funny. Maybe he has to ask everyones opinion before he has his own. Or not.

the DVD is happening this year, but as with anything which is owned by other companies, it can be a lengthy legal process getting things cleared so we can make them available.

Plus, The Pixies will be reverting back to 4ad in the USA this year, after being with Warners for god knows how long. So the DVD will be released sometime after this happens....

So its not so much people getting off their arses to do something - I think this DVD has taken up a lot of peoples daily schedule a lot already - but hopefully we'll get more news soon.... fingers crossed...
