I just saw this last night on the Sundance channel. It was very good, but very weird. Kind of reminds me of American Beauty. Anyone else see it? What do you guys think?

For all those who don't know, Frank Black and Joey Santiago scored the music for the movie (am I right here?). Bullet, an instrumental version, is played right at the beginning...a weird, psychadelicy version of Monkey Gone To Heaven plays at one point.

Ahh, sorry El Barto, I'm glad you liked it, but I couldn't stomache it (I did like American Beauty though). The best parts were the Frank song at the beginning and the GBV song at the end. What was with the "it's cool to accept Jesus" thing at the end? This movie is supposed to be an update on Crime and Punishment. No Jesus! No happy ending! c'mon now.

It was better than most teen movies, but how many movies about a greasy haired loner teaching the pretty highschool girl "about life" do we really need?

I really want to se that movie... The soundtrack is really cool. That Joey Santiago score is weird but I love it. Oh, and all the chicks on the pictures from the booklet look... great.

i know that Liza Richardson was the music supervisor on it .. she's a local DJ here in Los Angeles for public radio station KCRW.. and has (minimally) supported Frank when he's playing a show here and there.

oddly enough, she's also been in a bunch of Mac commercials lately.. but maybe only around here since only people around here know who she is.

i remember in some interview, Frank mentioned the movie in passing, saying he worked on some "horrible horrible movie".. so, it doesn't get the stamp of approval from the man..

haven't seen it myself. i'm sure it's better than AFTER HOURS though..

just kidding Itch..

i occasionally eat chateaubriand.
