So, what do you all like on TV? I'm curious because Tuesday is my big TV night with Buffy the Vampire Slayer (dorky, I know, but I can't help myself!) 24, and NYPD Blue (does anyone else think Dennis Franz is The Bomb? ha ha).
Any other tube heads here? |

Kinda..i download selected shows and watch them on my computer.. Just watched the first episode of season 2 for The Dead Zone..it's getting pretty weak tho...the first few eps were good, but then it's been wandering into more and more lame material.. I hate it when they go apocolyptic on a show.
I really like Alias, usually nab Smallville, it's usually surprisingly good, Lex is great. Firefly is sorta hit'n'miss too. Enterprise because i've always liked Trek, tho this hasn't been too great.. Stargate SG1 i like often.. Farscape i've been checking out recently too... I like Sci Fi. Odyssey 5 was alright too.
I like Angel over Buffy..tho Buffy has been getting interesting again. John Doe was another show that started strong but got rather weak in the end.
Simpsons of course.. Southpark..huh huh.. That's about it for me. Mostly sci-fi i guess.. One of my fav. series was Lexx, but it's no longer in production. I have the whole series tho. =) |

Oh, other things I like are Alias, CSI (NOT Miami, I hate you, David Caruso!), Law and Order SVU - mostly cause all the OZ actors which is also a show I like. I am sensing a CRIME theme here. Hmmm... |

Fox Sunday (Futurama, Simpsons, King of the Hill, Malcolm in the Middle, Andy Richter Controls the Universe)! Daily Show (my only news source). I watch Everybody Loves Raymond in syndication; such great acting and you can't beat Peter Boyle. The fag hag in me adores Will & Grace. I loved Firefly on Fox--a space western, and so very cheesy, but it looks like it will be cancelled. :-( Also watch Preshistoric Planet every Saturday a.m. for the kid's sake.

Well, I for one was *very* disappointed in the premier of Joe Millionaire last night. I mean, the whole point of the show is to watch the women get pissed off when they find out the dude is poor (well, that and to watch him get humiliated at the end). Yet, they dismissed something like eight women last night and DIDN'T TELL THEM the secret. What kind of sense does that make?
Wouldn't it be much better if the women who got dismissed were told the truth at the end of every episode? That way we'd get to see them first get shit on when they are sent home, and then either get more pissed off or else get very relieved or vindictive when they found out that the dude's money was a big lie. The creaters of this show really screwed the pooch. The way this is going, I only need to watch the final episode, 'cuz all this other stuff really isn't very entertaining.
And I HATE Law & Order. Goddamn that show pisses me off. |

Fox Sunday is the best! Late night shows are my guilty pleasure! David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, and SNL! Other than that, I like Seinfeld, and Invader Zim...though I haven't watched it in months. That's about it. |

Sunday: Fox Sunday Monday: Boston Public Tuesday: That 70's Show, Grounded For Life Wednesday: Nothing good Thursday: Friends, Scrubs Friday: Nothing good Saturday: SNL if I catch it
That's pretty much my default viewing habbits...other times I just switch on and attempt to find something good. Gotta love Seinfeld and old Simpsons, etc. I've been enjoying watching movies on the Sundance channel lately when there's nothing else on. I'm on my way to becoming hip! |

I knew you guys would jump on this!
Oh, I forgot SNL and I didn't even mention the Simpsons cause it goes without saying for me.
How bout shows we can't stand? My top two would be Judging Amy and Touched by an Angel. And that new show Mister Sterling looks HORRIFYING!! |

Get up early on Sunday and watch old Mystery Science Theater episodes on Sci fi! Also the Simpsons and maybe Conan and SNL if i catch them.
re: the Dead Zone, ha, I've watched a handful of episodes but it's really painful to watch Anthony Michael Hall try to be an actor. He was a great child actor yeah, but he is absolutely godawful in everything else, remember when he was on SNL? I hate in the Dead Zone his closeups with his "piercing eyes" and that little graphic of him walking away in a cloak and cane through the Title sequence. Basically, it's a show I love to hate. Why are people still surprised when his predictions come true? Have these people been in a barn the past year? Everytime he's right there's this media frenzy, and we're into like the 20th episode here. |

i pretty much never watch TV, except Conan O'Brian (like i said) because i'm a total insomniac and i think his show if fucking hilarious.
i will admit though, i do get sucked into dating shows on occasion. that's probably my one guilty pleasure.
in my opinion, Blind Date is the best, funniest, and overall most quality dating show. i love how the writers on Blind Date are really harsh on people (usually when they deserve it) in the little animated blurbs .. it's usually pretty funny stuff actually.
5th Wheel, Elimidate, and Shipmates are all inherently flawed because they presume that everyone will be attracted to everyone.. when that's not the case. like on Elimidate, the girls (or guys) ALWAYS act like they're so into the one person who does the voting off, when in reality, maybe only one or even none of the people would hit it off.
same for 5th Wheel and Shipmates.. (i love how on Shipmates they have a totally shitty date the first night, but then go out again for another 4 nights. in reality, if you have a crappy first date, that would be the end of it. you wouldn't give someone a second chance if you're disgusted by them)..
hence, Blind Date is still the reigning champion. it's real, and shows people whether they're having a shitty date or a good date. some of the other ones are clearly staged.
but like i said, i never watch TV..

i happend to see Elf Power earlier this year, by chance.
i thought they were pretty good .. the lead singer seems like a really cool guy.
near the end of the show though, they amazed me with two Bad Brains covers and a Black Flag cover.
i hate to say it but it was the best part of the set. i sure wasn't expecting it from the rest of their sound.

Dave, I'm not sure if he was in any tv shows as a kid, but he played Rusty in National Lampoon's Vacation, and he was also in a couple John Hughes movies, 16 Candles, Weird Science and the Breakfast Club. That's probably coming as quite a shock, I know I was highly shocked and disturbed when I first realized. |

Daria is/was great. It's now on the station called Noggin/The N. By day, it's a children's station...by night, it's for preteen/teens. There's some good shit on there tho, well...mostly just Pete and Pete and Daria. Check local listings! |

Pete and Pete kicks ass, yeah...it was off the air for a long while, but now it's back on Noggin/The N (Nickelodeon runs the station). Of course I remember Welcome Freshman, that was a good show. |

I'm a huge Futurama / Simpsons fan. I religiously watch the 11:30PM reruns. Other than that I only watch Conan.
Oh, and I'm Twin Peaks obsessed also.
Okay, okay, I'll admit it. I watch Trading Spaces. I used to tape it every day at 4PM when I got free cable (doesn't everyone in Boston have free cable?) Now I live in a warehouse and can barely get the majors (though Telemundo comes in bueno)

Yeah, I read about that, but unfortunately I don't get Noggin. I'll try to convince my parents to order it, but the chances that they'll capitulate are very slim. So, with hope the series will be released on DVD soon.
This is only slightly related to Pete and Pete, but you should go to http://www.emogame.com. You can chose to play as characters like Chris Carraba and Conor Oberst as you go on a quest to save the Get-up Kids from the evil clutches of Steven Tyler, while battling Creed, Fred Durst, and Courtney Love on the way. Pete from Pete and Pete plays a small role in the end (this brought back some great memories. sigh). |

As much as I like football, I'm always glad when the playoffs are over and they stop pre-empting Futurama. Why isn't it on later? Get rid of that lame Andy Richter show and put Futurama on after King of the Hill dammit! It makes me want to get satellite so I can watch it on Fox LA at 10PM!

This is the last season of Futurama. Not enough ratings. Well, what do you expect when you put a show on at SUNDAY at 7PM, a slot which not only sucks ass in itself, but is constantly being preemted by sports. They should get rid of King of the Hill at 8:30, put Futurama there, and keep everything else in tact. Andy Richter and Malcolm kick ass. |
