Hey all,
Looking at getting an electric guitar and would like to get something similar to a Telecaster. Since I play left I cannot get a Squire and I am not forking out 2k for a real left handed Tele... so I guess it is onto a copy.
Any suggestions? Any one on the site go this route and purchased a tele'copy? Anyone know of any Tele'copies which sound good and you would recommend?
Let me know your experience with non-fender products which are suppose to work like Fender products.

Apparently Fender doesn't make a left handed Mexican Tele. Strange eh? Well at least I think so... have head of a brand called Tokai which might be worth checking out and SX which is on Ebay but might not be worth while ordering b/c of the shipping and duty coming into Canada.

There's the G&L ASAT. It was Leo Fender's updated Tele (the "L" in "G&L" stands for Leo Fender). You might be able to pick one up used for about $500-600 (US). They're made in Fullerton California and are quite nice.

You should try hitting music stores for a used Tele...there should be lots of older Mex's floating around.. |

When I was a small boy my mother told me one evening, "Boy, this bedroom is a pig sty. I want to see it shine like the top of the Chrysler building before you go to bed, or else." Well, I was feeling pretty tired, so I just took a plane to New York, climbed the Chrysler building and poured mud all over the top, and then I went to bed.

Haha, cute. Oh and btw ambidextrous boys are fun! AHEM... Seriously tho, I'd check around... you should be able to find something. I wouldn't go with ebay... a little risky don't you think?
Good luck, Zan

You can also take a right-handed Tele and play it upside down. You can be the Frank Black version of Jimi Hendrix with a twist of Waylon Jennings. |

theres a website for the classifieds in my area, so im thinking there is probably one for the classifieds in your area. usually the online one covers several papers and thus is more efficient than looking in a real paper. search for something like that

Okay, looks like Fender isn't recialist after all... I ran a search through google for "left handed Telecasters" and found the Standard goes for about 385-400 $U which isn't too too bad...maybe they are old sites cause the guy at the music store told me Fender only makes a left handed american model... Anyone know of a used online music store?

Maybe the guy was talking out of his ass. A lot of salesmen tend to do that. That's why I never talk to salesmen...I hate them. |

I dunno about Waters, I think Walon Jennings died a couple months ago. He was also the narrator in Dukes of Hazzard. He had a beard and played a Tele. |
