i e-mailed mike watt this morning to ask him if he thought our
'j mascis' was the real deal. here's his response:

"j is hardly someone who would do this, cmon!!! he's good peeps.
in fact, there was a proj where me and j were going to get to record
w/charlie and he was very very pumped about that. too bad it
didn't happen."

just thought i'd add my two cents and watt's two wheels.

Dang. And I'd had such high hopes for the authenticity of His Jazzmasterness.

I'm completely shocked it's not the real J Mascis. I thought for sure. I had no doubts at all. Well, luckily on another message board I'm in contact "Rawk Hudson", which is great, because I admire his film work, especially the Douglas Sirk stuff. I'm letting the fact he "died" fall by the wayside, because afterall, he's on the message board, and he goes by his own name for chrissakes!

you try hard, but I know you're not the real one

Come on, the real J would have know his hero "RT"
he's on cooking vinyl, that's my last hint

I don't believe you're the real one
