Hi everybody,

Since you people seem to know EVERYTHING:

Where exactly does the "college demo" come from?
And what do you think of the songs?

I love Draw attention and Keeping in time is great too.


ps: Don't you think that Southbound Bevy is Frank's closest song to Neil Young's songwriting?
(I mean the voice is pure Neil Young!)

He recorded the songs on a boombox in his dorm while he attended UMass, I believe. I believe one or some or all of the songs were later made into Pixies songs...the chord progression was used. I believe one of them was Here Comes Your Man.

My sister said it reminded her of Bob Seger, which caused me to have a heart attack, but now I can actually see her point. When he sings "mexico" it does kind of.

Mike Rutherford you are exactly right. Every time Southbound Bevy first starts up I could swear it's Against The Wind...nothing wrong with that either. In my book Against the Wind is one of the all-time great rock and roll songs. Classic.

I'll Be Blue does sound like Neil, but the real Neil sound-a-like is "So hard to make things out".
