I'm wondering how we could disagree so much on You Ain't Me, Dance War, and 666 (loved ALL THREE of those, m'self), yet agree on the latter three you mentioned? Wierd.

I'll preface this with saying that no artist's work will be 100% all the time, and no two people will agree on what the best and worst work will be, but for me the ones I could have done without were:

FB: NONE.
TOTY: Fiddle Riddle.
COR: NONE.
FB&C: King & Queen of Siam
Pistolero: South Bay
DITS: Stupid Me, The Swimmer, Llano Del Rio
DW: Are You Headed My Way
BLD: The Black Rider (track 1), Farewell Bend, Southbound Bevy, Whispering Weeds

The only one where I thought the brilliance was slipping a bit was in BLD, and in that one, maybe I'm just not a big fan of more of a blues influence? I dunno.

Nothing changes the fact that to me there is no more solid of a musician out there, period, both in creating the work and performing it.

wow. it's a good thing you prefaced this with that statement, because...wow. it's actually really cool how everyone gets something different from fank's music, because i disagree with you on so many levels with your choices. and that's OKAY!

Yeah, Dan, my own preference goes more toward the grinding, driving, guitar-rich sounds which switch over into completely unexpected yet thoroughly refreshing minor chords. Hearing "llano-llano" accompanied by a half-hearted strum on accoustic just kinda/sorta disappoints in a way, or I guess you could say it clears the palette for the next batch of post-punk genius.

Perhaps the best aspect of all about Frank's music is how rich and diverse it is, with little bits that inspire and move and intrigue different people in different ways, or sometimes the same people when in different moods. Like some of the others said, sometimes the love of a song sneaks up on you, like when I used to really not like Cult of Ray's "I Don't Want to Hurt You" until just the other day when I relistened to it and was REALLY into it then.

I like most of Franks songs, 99% of them to be honest, although I would have to say that 'I will run after you' is my least favourite off of all of the albums.... Dance Ware and You Ain't Me are great songs, I don't know how anyone could say otherwise.

..... and also I actually think 'Are you heading my way' is a great song too, anyone agree??? I agree with Stupid Me though, not too much of a fan of that one!

This bloody internet connection is slow, but dunno why it sent three times. Maybe I just wanted people to know that Dance War is not a shite song! Dance war is not a shite song! Dance war is not a shite song!

I will run to you is pretty cool. I've got this really deep voice, but when sing with it I can hit the same high note as frank. It is great. I really like 21 reasons too, wow. I wish I had the CD here. I'm itching to listen to it now.

Leonard Cohen is cool.

Never! It is here to irritate you until you're... well, really irritated!

Anyhow, by album :

FB: Czar
TOTY: Fazer Eyes
COR: The Marsist, Punk Rock City
FB&TC: Solid Gold
P: You're Such a Wire
DITS: Hermaphroditos, Blast Off (The song is great, but too long, i always end up skipping the end)
DW: None
BLD: None

DW and BLD are new, i'm too busy appreciating his new work to find something wrong with it. :)

I agree, Dance War is not a "shite" song, three times over.

Hermaphroditos was an "acquired taste" for me, but "u ain't me", oh my GAWD, that's one of my favorites!!!

.....STORMY WEATHER?????????
I can not believe ANYONE would not have respect for this entire song!
Many-many-many trips to the waves with this one-
all the way to the end of the last drop of song!!
Probably the most fantastic song to tie into weather
for us "surfin'weather buffs"
