I keep getting an annoying pop-up ad that just keeps rising up out of the bottom right-hand corner of my screen. So who liked "Gangs of New York?" I thought it was okay. By the way, do messages ever pop up visibly? I'll admit I'm new to this forum, and all forums, but will I ever see a reply actually appear in front of my very eyes? Usually I have to wait about a day or so to see anything new.

It's embarassing that my last stupid-ass message is the top of a new page.

I was wondering how long you could go on talking to yourself. V. amusing sir. Messages don't "pop up", but if someone posts and you refresh your page (you can set your active topics page to do so automatically), you will see new posts, it shouldn't take a day. |

But... it looks like man of steel to me. Just look at those oily pecs, he's an adonis! And then I threw up directly into my lap. |

I really don't know mere..... and trying to figure it out involves scrutinzing that picture and damn it, I'm starting to like it all. You didn't give me gay, did you? |

Hee-hee. I was in a gay murder mystery theatre troupe for four years, and that picture is still the gayest thing I have ever seen. I was looking specifically for a picture of that particular person (he was an incredible egomaniac, BTW--does it show?), but I'd never hoped for one that corny. It's quite something.

What the hell is a gay murder mystery? All the characters are gay, or all the actors are gay? That guy is a person you actually knew? Sweet maria... That is beyond awesome. |

Nah, I didn't know him! He was a public media figure from my childhood (when the earth was still cooling, apparently.)
Well, it was an interactive murder mystery that we would perform at a couple of different gay bars, and the vast majority of the actors were gay. Also, most of the murder scenarios that they would write were gay or at least had gay subplots. And everybody had to "play gay" at least once. They kept casting me in "girl Friday" reporter roles until they realized what a weirdo I am, and then I was pretty much permanently typecast as the tacky wacko--Southern beautician/illegal abortionist, insane nun, Cockney barmaid, Eurotrash drug dealer, hooker w/ a heart of gold, female Elvis impersonator. It was fun. You could mingle with perfect strangers and be as rude and abusive as you wanted to be. |

We had a gay old time. (Sorry. Couldn't resist.)
Y'all henhouse folk have a good day. I'm off to the big city/wet county to pick up my nephew and a six-pack. Wish me luck. I took the back road home the other day and the car in front of me shot fireworks out their windows for 15 miles. Go, Bubba, go!

Are you sure these are "characters" you "played" in a "theater group"? Or is this all really just a summary of your sordid life to this point, with the all the "gay men" being the trail of fellers who have left you and broken your heart (and thus MUST be gay...) and all those "tacky wackos" are really the various jobs you've had? I mean, come on mere, that's a pretty thin story. Though why you've revealed all this to me I haven't the foggiest. You are a strange cat. |

Hey man, you asked. I will impart one final bit of wisdom gleaned from my days in Ye Olde Gaye Barre--don't snort Equal. It hurts. There's only so far one should have to go in suffering for one's craft.
I found a picture of me the other day in my leopard print Elvis jumpsuit. Thankya verra much.
OK, off to Little Rock in my sporadically air-conditioned car. |

Oh, and a BIG WHAT UP to the Forum's newest member "Rampant Bob". I send you a rubber lady kiss, sir! |

Whitmore Lake...sounds vaguely familiar. I'm in Warren, right outside Detroit (8 1/2 Mile to be exact). You have family out here?

Hey there, speedy m, Sorry. I wasn't aware there was a level of maturity one has to attain to post on this forum, that obviously I haven't quite reached yet. All of the other threads I've read have been so astute, and so mature!! I'm not trying to sound like an asshole, but I am truly not one. You sound very ready to dismiss me as such. I have no idea why.

I meant no offense at all glacial, you posted a couple times there without any response and I thought it looked a lil' funny, is all. I certainly haven't dismissed you as an asshole, you seem like a perfectly likeable chap. I'm sorry if my post came across as condescending, I was honestly just trying to tell you about the active topics thing. If there is a maturtiy level to be attained on this board before one can post, I will soon be dragged away and put back in 3rd grade, I assure you. Poop crap penis. So let's sit at the back of the class together and throw stuff at the nerds (mere, bazza, barto, et al). Cheers! |

I got sunburn and my chest is itching like fucking mad, it's an insane itch that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. FUCK THE SUN. I've had very little exposure to the sun, and as soon as I do, this happens. MY GOD IT FUCKING ITCHES. Anyone have any suggestions to MAKE IT STOP!? I'm thinking of taking cue from Iggy Pop and cutting my chest up.

Aloe vera gel & tylenol or ibuprofen. If it's really bad you might try a little hydrocortisone cream (Cortaid.) 50 SPF for you, mister! |

MI was OK, thanks, Jim. Did you have a nice journey?
Thanks for the birthday post, Sarah! I am a big complainer! But I had to speak up because when your own mother forgets your birthday, you know you are in trouble. Feh!
So, any words of wisdom about 27? It's such an in-between number, IMHO. Until 30 and my next big birthday bash - who cares??
Out shortly for a little bit a revelry. Check you all tomorrow. |

Words of wisdom at 27? Avoid drugs and don't die? (see: Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison...). That's kinda creepy. My journey was alright. 7 hour drives are exciting!

Since I am in the final months of being 27 my advice is to not take anything too seriously - especially your age.
