Wilco rocks, try Yankee Hotel Foxtrot or Summerteeth. Very good stuff.

I know Wilco, mostly b/c of Billy Bragg, whom I adore, (and, btw, his CD's with Wilco of Guthrie music are excellent!) but I'll download some Wilco on their own. Thanks! |

Check out Brian Jonestown Massacre, Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros and there are a couple of Specials vs Fun Time Boys. Just a few that I am listening to.

non-frank discs i've been spinning lately:
elvis costello, 'when i was cruel' the smashing pumpkins, 'adore' KMFDM, 'NAIVE' the strokes, 'is this it'
a lot of frank and pixies stuff, though. |

I love the Smiths, and Elvis Costello (saw him twice in the last few months) and also Flaming Lips (hey, saw them too recently!) - I will check out the other stuff ya'll mentioned. Thanks!
Also good, in my humble opinion, Sleater-Kinney, Jen Trynin & Liz Phair, for some ovary music. :)

John Specer if it hasn't been mentioned...really good show this past summer rocking and weird style. Also been listening to older Who...really see where current "Mod/Punk" bands did all their stealing...

Anytime I find myself listening to Ritual a lot it tends to lead me to Porno for Pyros. Meija is one of my fav's. Someone should post the topic 'How many man-hours are lost due to the Frank Black Forum'? Might need NASA's help to calculate that one?!

Sounds like a good idea. I think Bazza did something of the same. I think the post was called desert island discs. But I can start you off here. Three or four favourite songs eh! I know that I will hit submit and think of about a dozen other songs I should have listed, but here it goes.... In no particular order..... Schizophrenia - Sonic Youth White Man In The Hammersmith Palais - The Clash James Connolly/A Nation Once Again - The Wolfetones Stupid Marriage - The Specials Meija - Porno For Pyros

my fave song of all time is - lady grinning soul by david bowie. its on aladdin sane and is so beaufiful. up there as well is a song called jesse by a acid jazz band called mother earth and take me to the river (al green). as a huge fan of funk (see my bio) i would also include isaac hayes' 'pursuit of the pimpmobile' as well. anyone feeling a wee bit experimental give this a listen - its very nice.
sweet

TURN IT ON and WORDS & GUITAR both by Sleater Kinney STAR STRUCK ONE by Smoking Popes THUNDER ROAD (sorry, is a classic!) by Bruuuuuuuuuce SUNDAY GIRL by Blondie IF I by Jen Trynin and FUCK AND RUN by Liz Phair.
Those are, of course, only the very first few I thought of.

Anyone here listen to Enon, I just bought their CD Believo recently, it is a might but amazing. All I listen to is that CD and Devil's Workshop. Other good bands include Deltron 3030, the Faint, Ladytron, and I have also gotten into Bowie lately.

Here's mine:
I AM TRYING TO BREAK YOUR HEART by Wilco HEART OF GLASS by Blondie (yeah, I know, but...) BORN TO RUN by Bruce NO ALOHA by The Breeders WHERE THE STREETS HAVE NO NAME by U2 FUCK EVERYTHING by Jack Logan (one bad-ass song for when you're in a bad-ass mood)
And my personal latest favorite (It's weird but what the hell, I don't care anymore): A SONG FOR YOU(FUCK YOU) by Reid Paley
Gee, I seem to have a theme, don't I??
Nite all, Zan

Death or Glory: The Clash Father to a Sister of Thought: Pavement Hollow Log: Beck African Herbsman: Bob Marley The Kids are Allright: The Who
By the way these are suject to change at a moment's notice.
