One of the stranger bands I've come across in my vast searching for bizarre music. They were actually on Matador for a few years. If you've not heard their sound, well, sheesh, it can best described as insanity lacking structure mixed with structure lacking sanity. Often, they delve into the unlistenable realm of the sonic world, but just as often they have these mad, nefarious hooks, not necessarily poppy but certainly infectious in a demented and twisted way. Supposedly, Strangers Of the Universe (or is it "from the universe"?) is their best album, but I've not heard it. I really enjoy Mother Of All Saints and Loveleyville, and Wormed By Leonard is good, too. The re-release of Wormed By Leonard includes a cover of Superstar by The Carpenters that is just absolutely dreary and dead. Hilarious.

I have a limited-edition rarities/live compilation by them (features a cover of Sugarloaf's "Green Eyed Lady"). They are an extremely interesting band - I'd probably be a fan if I'd heard one of their "real" albums.
