i have been a fan of this band (2 Italian's dudes + a Japanese chick) for a few years now, and i got to see them live last night, and it was fantastic.
they're touring the states in the coming month(s) so try to go along and see them - they're really good....

not sure how i'd describe their sound - quirky post-punky rock perhaps....i'm sure jo could come up with something more appropriate..
oh, and for a frank connection - their new album is being released by 4AD....and you can download a track (misery is a butterfly) from 4ad's site too - i had not heard it before last night, but it was the highlight of the set for me.

They're playing in Paris tomorrow, and the tickets sold out in like 2 days. It's a very small venue though. I couldn't get tickets, but I think they're gonna tour again later this year, with more dates. I saw them in Montreal in '97 and it was awesome. Plus they're really nice people.
Benji, have you heard the new album? Looks like it's more produced than the previous ones, more laid back too. I only heard one song and it sounded great.

Denis, no i have not heard the album.
i know it's on soulseek and from what people have said on other forums, it's a good'un, but i'll just have to wait for March 15.
i have only heard the 1 song too, which i downloaded just now from 4ad, and while it certainly doesn't have the hardshness of fake can be just as good it's sounding not-to-similar from melody of certain damaged lemons or whatever that albums called.
quick alot of strings on it to...goody.
the show last night was not sold out, but thats only cause they had to reschedule it from the night before from a smaller venue that was sold out.
and yes, they said that they'd be back in May.

Thanks for the heads up on the tour, benji - we are sorely lacking in good shows around these parts, so much so, that I'm up for a serious live music road trip at this point.
I have to be in the right mood for the vocals, but when I am, I love the band. For those interested, there are some more free mp3s here:
