Has the world gone mad????
I don't who has been following the BBC programme that is trying to establish the best ever sitcom but some of the top 10 choices are crazy.
For example 'Open All Hours' but no 'Alan Partridge'
But I was totally incredulous to note that the 'Vicar of Dibley' is in there but no 'Father Ted'.
Read all about it here:

as long as either fawlty towers or blackadder wins i'm not too concerned.
i saw the episode on fawlty towers, and it was fantastic....it's a pity i haven't seen any of the others...

at least blackadder is in there, hope it wins! we have all the series on video, watch them all the time (apart from the 1st series, ahem)... fantastic!
agreed about father ted though, it's a crime it's not in there! we have all those on dvd! lol! amazing stuff... vicar of dibley is shite and doesn't even come close to father ted... but hey, vicar of dibley is a bbc production, father ted is channel 4... hmmmmm...

I know Father Ted was paid for w/ English dough but there is still some quintisentially Irish weirdness about it. Perhaps Fawlty Towers'd be more appropriate. Too, I'm aware of the subjective nature of art and all that but Dad's Army still blows.

yeah, the vicar of dibly is a pile of crap - well not really, but it does have nothing on father ted.
i have yet to buy the blackadder dvd box set, but have them all on video, i was going to buy them back home in NZ before i left, but put it off - i should have though cause it was NZ$99, which converts to £35 whereas they're around £50 over here....

here porn is free on teevee. Plenty odd stuff too: came home from the pub one night and switched the channel to some bearded German guy fellating a banana. Most of it is quite gynaecological too, all you can see are these impressionistic swathes of flesh dancing about. I never woulda thought I could become desensitised to it but there you go.

Dose I'm Alan Partridge come under the 'sitcom' heading? Knowing me, Knowing you(which I prefare)dos'nt. Only Fools And Horses is possibly the only mainstream comedy I like, it's absolutly brilliant(although it went well dodgy towards the end!) Blackadder is an all time fave.

It's at no. 31 behind comedic gems such as 'Dinnerladies' and 'Keeping up appearances'. I think Daily Mail readers must have been the principle voters.

I used to LOVE the Young Ones...it was actually a family favorite, one 'alternative' comedy show that the whole family seemed to love...Fawlty Towers also great. The Red Hand Gang? Was'nt that a silly US kid's show?

Access is restricted at this time....Bad News, which was not a sitcom but was written by Ben Elton, was very funny...had it plus it's follow up More Bad News taped off telly....my bro had a cassete tape which was also v. amusing. It starred 3 of the Young One guys, and was about a crap heavy metal band-totally Spinal Tap, not sure if it was an intentional rip-off as it came out the same year as 'Tap, but Elton has said he loves Spinal Tap(In fact, not sure, but he might have said it was his fave comedy movie).

get the cd first! i have both 'specials' they made and the cd and the cd is by far the funniest of the lot. i assume it's still in print - i got mine over 10 years ago.
my sister hated the swearing on it soo much that she chcuked it out the window of our house one day when me and my brother were listening to it....luckily it survivied.

It's NEVER too early for porn. Or too late to learn to read. And there's always room for Jell-O.

Its blatantly going to be a toss-up between Fawlty Towers and Only Fools And Horses for the winner. It should be Father Ted though, for sure, although I also have a soft spot for Red Dwarf, a travesty at number 18.

Ya. The Red Hand Gang used to be aired directly before Young Ones on RTE. Always just thought it was a strange segue into a show like Young Ones?

TarTar, you're worrying me. Either you have a serious infatuation with Peter North's man bits, or you just really fancy red nails. Either way, your creepy fetish has me intrigued and I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter. And why has no one mentioned the Office? Sure, it was only around for two "series", and it's "new", and it's "the only british show I've seen", but surely it deserves mention amongst these other unworthy, non-Ricky Gervais related shows? Surely?
Actually, I have seen a few episodes of Blackadder (seemed funny), Fawlty Towers (seemed so-so) and Red Dwarf (when I was young. I thought it was very odd. Which I would now take as a sign that it could be quite good.)
Has anyone seen Ricky Gervais standup "Animals"? I downloaded it recently, and it was fairly amusing. I like the little bith with Jennifer Taylor Clark. My but she is a fox. Well, a cougar I suppose. In a very "Nigella Lawson" sort of way. Which of course is a good thing.

I'm just jealous of Peter North, for the size of his member and the chicks he gets to doodle. The girl in the link I provided in this thread is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in a porn and just wanted to share the beauty with everyone else here. Too bad she had to have a giant dong in her mouth.
