I don't know how many QOSA fans frequent this board but i'm a huge fan and am quite gutted at the news.
Nick was a major part of the band and i can't see it being as good without him.
Mark Lanegan has also left which i'm sad about but to be fair we wasn't such a big part of the band.
Anyone else feeling pissed off about this? |

I love QotSA, this is horrible. Mark Lanegan, I would expect, he's had his solo thing going on for quite a while and I was actually surprised that he stuck with them as long as he did, but NICK OLIVERI???

There are so many songs that they'll have to abandon unless Homme can find someone who can scream like Nick, which is unlikely...
It sucks that Lanegan is gone too, as he sings some of my favorite songs of theirs. |

Yeah, I heard bout this today.
AM quite upset. I just cant imagine it with out him.
But i guess everything happens for a reason..and should only mean they progress to greater things...

I second the Kyuss reunion. That's a bummer about Queens. They're one of the only good rock bands left.

i like Homme a lot - but its not QotSA w/o Oliveri - can you imagaine one of their shows w/o "Feel Good Hit of the Summer" or "Millionaire"? I can't...

Ive just got out my copy of SFTD in an attempt to work out who has left the band but it has no band details, so can anyone actually tell me who has left (ie drummer, bass player, vocalist). I love QOTSA and saw them with high expectations last year at Roskilde, which I have to admit is one of the worst live acts I have ever seen. They just didn't seem at all into it and it was very very boring. That said I do like their albums alot and it's a pity that they are no more as they were one of the best bands around at the moment.

I always thought Nick was the QOTSA, with Josh Homme. So I expected to read they have broken up. Can't say I've followed them so im not sure what this means exactly.
