Did you say ticket(s)? Does this mean you're going to the UK for sure, Jimmy-boy?

Um..how quickly did they sell-out? Under an hour?
(Sorry..got a bet going..hehe..)
I know someone who got circle tickets at about lunchtime and then XFM announced it had some tickets this afternoon. I don't think they would have lasted long though... |

Stargreen was shit, i couldn't even get the page up, Wayahead is clearly the way to go.
I feel sorry for the fans who don't have internet access, the first they'll know what it is when they see it advertised 4 days too late. |

Having said that xfm still has the dates listed and doesn't say they are sold out... http://xfm.livegigguide.com/search.asp?ev=pixies&tp=any&date_field=0&todo=search&image1.x=32&image1.y=9 ... doesn't let you buy them online though but it might be worth a very long shot of phoning up 0870 121 1049 just in case.

He IS coming to UK for sure, but hes coming later in June, so wont be about for that particular gig. Tickets - referring to me going with another friend.

After all the problems that loads of people had with Ticketweb for the earlier tickets, I decided to use Wayahead, and got mine for Saturday about 9.15am, after first losing my internet connection just after entering my details, then waiting 10 minutes for an operator to answer the phone. A bit traumatic, I can tell you.
From what I can gather, Wayahead starting selling the tickets before 9am, so I was quite lucky not to miss out again.
Big thanks to Dave Noisy for the insider info. If you come to any gigs in the UK, I'll buy you a beer or some. I've been on cloud 9 all day!

Fairplay Dave, I managed to get a ticket last Saturday, however you've performed a good deed in making a load of depressed Brits happy today, which is worthy of respect!

Heh, gypsy, I'm always fishing 4/4um related gossip. And I'm so tired that inserting an absolutely irrelevant time signature into my post seems terribly clever right now even though I know better somewhere deep down.

well to sum it all up: Wayahead started selling at about 8.45am and had sold out by 9.15-9.20 stargreen went on sale at 9am and had all sorts of server problems so didn't sell out until about 9.50am ticketweb also went onsale at 9am and also had server problems and they didn't sell out of all tickets until around 10.30-ish.
from what i saw, ticketweb were the only ones selling circle tickets, which is a bit odd.

i *think* that's because all the other vendors only have an allocation, ticketweb have the whole lot.

any idea what the allocation is for the others?
and so is it a case of first-come-first-served with regard to the other sites allocation? as in, if ticketweb sell 3000 in the time that wayahead and stargreen sell 500 each (yeah, never gunna happen!), then they won't get to utilise their full allocation? or does it not work like that?
..

as far as i know ticketweb have the full allocation and the other venders just have a certain number, within that allocation. so if ticketweb sell all their tickets before a vendor has sold their allocation they will lose their allocation. at least that's how i understand it.

I too would like to extend my thanks to Dave Noisy for the inside track and lack of info about these extra gigs on NME, XFM etc. I reckon it made the difference, it was still really busy but I managed to get me a ticket for Friday :) |

Seconded.
I will in fact dedicate my first massive, possibly bone-breaking wipeout in Whistler next month to Mr Noisy. Top man. |

I think meeting up with other fans is a great idea cos I'm going to them all on my own! I'm planning on finding a cheap hotel room but spending the night face down on some pub floor sounds like much more fun! |

For afterwards the Dog Star is always good for a laugh and only £3 in. Cheap hotels in brixton? Not sure about that one... plenty of crack houses though! |

lol - you'll be okay boner... there's no reason to just stay in Brixton anyway - a tube ride will get you to other bits of london dead easily...
am travelling in a convoy of at least 6 pixies fans both nights

there's only two of us going & we have no idea where to go. when we went to see pearl jam in cardiff we slept on a park bench after the gig & numerous BAD clubs, but somehow, i don't think that would be a good idea this time! |

I have managed to line up a ticket for the Friday night now. As to where to go after the event I would suggest heading back up to the West End or Camden on the Tube. I am going to the Queen of Noize disco at 10:30 at the Camden Barfly this Friday. I will report back over the weekend as to whether it is a suitable venue for an after gig do. I know last week BRMC were on there as the aftershow party for their Brixton gig and this week The Killers are on there. I think it is a bit early to decide at the moment though. |

there's lotsa places within easy reach of Brixton which are much nicer to stay in than Brixton itself. don't think ya need to worry yaself with that stuff just yet.
