Not a sausage for me via Ticketweb. 'Cannot find server' is all they are telling me. Also had other error messages and even a 'Your computer does not enable cookies' at one point. I'm waiting for 'wrong type of snow' or 'leaves on the line'.
I know some of you have got through but others haven't. Deeply deeply frustrating. Like Scarla, I started trying just before 9. Phone and web but absolutely no joy. I've got through to the final screen on stargreen, ticketweb and gigsandtours but failed each time.
Then you look on ebay and there are four pages of tickets for sale.
Anyway, one more plea. I only need 1 ticket but it must be for Saturday night as I am on holiday for the previous week.
I suppose I can 'afford' touts prices but it would stick in my throat if I had to go down this route.

i don't know whats happening with stargreen, but they seem all over the place. first sat had sold out, then they find some more, then both days sell out and then they find some more fridays....
i hope you managed to get some barney, but if not, i would certainly hold off ebaying - i am positive people will have some available later on when people pull out, die etc.

I hope you're right Benji I really do.
I'm contemplating getting drunk at lunchtime and rampaging through the town.
This is not good for my heart.

Have you noticed on ticketweb before you order it says:
"Please note: The tickets for this event are souvenir and may not be available for dispatch until close to the event. We suggest that customers do not contact customer services unless tickets haven't arrived within ten days of the event."
Now that could seriously fuck the touts over. Not that they'll care... since they already have the money in their pockets... I feel sorry for people who payed well over the odds for tickets on ebay. They should've known other dates would be added. Or just gone to T in the park (2 day camping ticket worked out less than most touts were charging) |

I failed to get tickets again. Same as Saturday got through to the confirmation pages four times only to see my chances tick away and then die as the confirmation screen could not be accessed. Looks like a trip to Scotland for me then, although I might use eBay for one of the nights. Congrats to those who were successful |

Thanks Scarla!! I'm popping home at lunchtime to check emails but I'm fairly sure that I didn't make it through to the confirmation screen with any of the outlets.
I was hoping for stalls but I'm not going to bite the hand that feeds. I'll send you an email later.
Cheers
p.s. I hope the others who missed out are going to be able to get their hands on tickets from amongst the FBnet faithful.

yeah, i mentioned that in the other thread... it may be a close call as to whether or not your tickets actually arrive if you get them via ebay touts... try and make sure they offered recorded delivery or next day or something if you have to go down that route...

There seems to me to be a simple solution to ticket touts - named tickets.
When you purchase a set of tickets why not simply print the name and D.O.B of the buyer on the ticket at source, most ticket systems are electronic now, so this couldn't be that difficult. You could either register one name for all of a set of tickets, or a name for each ticket.
On the door then all you need is id to validate that it is your ticket or your group of tickets, with some form of id: driving license, passport age card, even credit/debit card.
It works for airports why not gigs - ok it might take longer to get in to the gig, but I'd stand a longer que above having the constant cry of "Any Tickets" buzzing me constantly as I go into a gig.
The Forum in Oxford issues internet tickets that are registered to the name of a party - which is half way there
Just a thought, and a bit off the point but what the hey

yeah, apparently they're doing that at glastonbury this year to prevent touting.... i mean there are a few ocassions when selling tickets is an only option (if you can't make it, or die!), so if there was a system where you could sell a ticket on for face value, maybe through the vender, at a charge of £5 (so *they* make money on it), it would be a solution... it needs to be done though, you're dead right.

The problem is, why would the venues want to prevent touting? The band or the venue aren't affected by touts, so why would they bother checking the ID of the guys at the door? It'd cost them money.

The trick to getting rid of touts is just not to use them - if all the people with spare tickets sell to people who want tickets then everyones happy. At Jane's Addiction last year people were selling to touts for £10 and buying for £40 and there were loads of kiddies who had genuine spare tix trying to sell for face value who couldn't because the touts were getting people outside the station. If you have or need spare tickets wait right outside the venue (earlier the better) and draw attention to yourself. The touts won't cause trouble with the venue security right there (one would hope!). |

I must say unlucky to anyone out there who didn't get one. I was one of the lucky ones, checked wayahead (my usual ticket...dispenser) at quart to nine and had the tickets five mins later, no fuss no muss. I hope that anyone who missed out gets one some way or another. I do really sympathise I do. Dare I say, use ebay, it will be cheaper than the touts and atleast if you get one now you have the satisfaction of knowing you are going.
