What kind of hell-hole do we live in where Justin Timberlake beats George Harrison for best pop vocal? Anyone else watching? I'm pretty much just waiting for best male rock vocal (Bowie, Waits, Dylan...) and then I'll probably turn it off.

What was up with that crazy catagory? Michael McDonald?? Has anyone even HEARD of him in the last 10 years? And what is with the pairings of presenters - currently on: Snoop Dogg and Jason Alexander. The hell? Who is producing this bunk?
Also, the set. It's like a 80's pop star blew up in a mall or something. Wacky madness!

I was hoping Tom Waits would win this one...
Best Male Rock Vocal performance:
"New Killer Star" David Bowie
"Down In The Flood" Bob Dylan Track from: Masked And Anonymous - Music From The Motion Picture
"If I Could Fall In Love" Lenny Kravitz
"Gravedigger" Dave Matthews
"Return Of Jackie & Judy" Tom Waits Track from: We're A Happy Family: A Tribute To Ramones
AND THE WINNER IS...
DAVE MATTHEWS!!
What a joke.

I never thought I'd hear "best vocal" used in the same sentence as "Dave Matthews."

Well I guess they didn't show it. Those a-hole bastards! But then again, Dave Matthews won so I don't really give a shit. What a waste of time. I could have been sleeping

Justin Timberlake probably is a better pop vocalist. Remeber pop is short for popular.

The Grammy's suck. Yes indeedy, I can't agree more. I watched The Surreal Life instead.

but importantly, was there lotsa booty shakin'?
i think the important thing is to not even begin to think about taking the grammy's seriously, cause it just makes you mad. it's just an opportunity to watch some pseudo-hot girls and guys wiggling their goodie-bits.

I was so bored with the Grammy's. I taped it so I could fast forward all the crap and see what I wanted to see.
The White Stripes were great. Jack White can shred that guitar with his slide.
I saw that they already picked "Best Male Rock Vocal Performance" before the Grammy's even started. They have tons of awards they don't do on the air, because those are mostly the real musicians (jazz, classical, etc.) and they need time for fake ones like Justin Timberlake to get air time.

What about that Foos performance of "Times Like These"? That piano virtuoso guy was really having fun ruining the already OKAY song. Honestly, I only watched about 2 minutes of the entire show. Too bad I missed the Stripes.

Frank Black needs to hire Robert Randolph to funk up his pedal steel. That's the first time I'd heard them and I came away very impressed. |

As long as they didn't mention the Pixies reunion, like that would have happened, I think we here in the USA are safe from a ticket sales fuck up. knock on wood!

the thing that really pisses me off about john mayer is that he's managed to get wealth and fame by ripping off Dave Matthews, who himself has more wealth and fame than he deserves. So the next band I start is going to be a ripoff of Staind....cause those guys definitely don't deserve the success they've had, which means my staind ripoff band will be a huge hit. Don't worry, I'll invite all you guys to the release parties for my shitty records

I don't think I've heard any of those songs, but Waits would be my favorite out of that little lot. |

Yeah, I hate watching this stuff, but like I said, I just wanted to see the Bowie, dylan, and Waits award which none of them won and they didn't show so now I regret wasting my time watching it. I think Jane's Addiction was nominated for something too but they didn't show that either. Anyways, I think that's a respectable reason to watch it.

hey c'mon, the grammy's weren't that bad. There was about 15 minutes worth watching!
White Stripes Outkast Celene Dion
Yes, Celene Dion - they had technical difficulties and you could hear these sound engineers talking about something over the music. Then a dude comes out with a new microphone and switches with the one Celene had. It was awesome! I'm sure it pissed madame Dion off.
