So when I hear this song and think "Neil Young," is it because of the sound, or am I being prejudiced by the Neil-like title?

I tried to understand and write down the lyrics from the mp3 file uploaded on ftp. Remember I don't speak english, so forgive me if it's complete bullshit...

MANITOBA

Up in Manitoba
The sky was very blue
The people were of you
And (nights?) were getting colder
And when I heard the sound
Saw the sky turn red
Well I got up from my bed
And I wandered far from town

Yes I have seen the face of God
And I was not afraid
I have seen the face of God
And I have dearly paid

Darkness came, I couldn't see
I had no light to follow
I slept inside the hollow
Of a dead-end fallen tree
I tell you how three days I tried
To wake me up, oh but no
My flesh had turned to snow
And I thought I had died

Yes I have seen the face of God
And I was not afraid
I have seen the face of God
And I have dearly paid

Yes I have seen the face of God

Though I had it rough
They got me home in time
And they gave me homemade wine
But it was not enough
The cold had made me dumb
And I was sent away
These walls are here today
For fifty years in (what?)

Yes I have seen the face of God
And I was not afraid
I have seen the face of God
And I have dearly paid

Yes I have seen the face of God
I was not afraid
I have seen the face of God
And I have dearly paid

Couple of corrections (no big deal!)

The sky was very blue,
The people were a few.

These walls are here today,
For fifty years and some.
