I never really understood why this song ("How soon is now?",by the Smiths) appears in that stupid story about 3 hot witches (Charmed). The song is a story about a person who goes to a club to find somebody to love, than leaves alone and cries. What does Shannon Doherty have to do with "a shyness that is criminally vulgar"?
It's really nonsense.
There was a thread about the Flaming Lips and their song in a car commercial, but I think this is worse. What next? "Gouge away" for a shampoo commercial? "Harvest" for the next Terminator?

I agree Adrian. They've been selling that song for a while now. It's been in several car commercials. I like the Bill Hicks opinion of "artists" who advertise. Car commercials also ruined a T Rex song, and most recently a Sweet song.
Hand held shower nozzles are the demon enemy of the patriarch and should be destroyed. |

Hehe, 'Adrian le Terrible' doesnt quite have the same ring to it.
although not as bad as an advert or anything, the Here Comes Your Man 'chime' was used on some MTV thing hosted by Jack Osbourne last summer.
jack osbourne? maybe it is as bad as an advert....

Yeah, songs in commercials are a bummer. You can blame Michael Jackson for Beatles songs showing up there - he owns the catalog.
I am personally tired of hearing Hey Ya in every movie preview. We get it! It's a good song! It applies to EVERYTHING! Ahh!

I just glanced at the phone and it started to ring..seriously.
I'm not too sure why this show is even remotely popular...i've watched a season and a half of it, absolutely nothing remarkable about it, imo.
Why do i keep watching? I keep expecting it to get better...

Did you ever hear the cover of How soon is now, Snake River Conspracy? I think that was their name, the leade singer was a stripper called Toby Torres, anyway it was the worst cover that i've ever heard! |

Quicksand did it too. Much more straight forward than the original, but still cool for the only Smiths song ever that I actually like.

Charmed is AWFUL! My girlfriend watches it sometimes when the remote is too far away & she agrees.

I must admit I watch "Charmed" sometimes, especially the episodes where one of the girls wears a tight dress. But it is awfully stupid.
