All a bit strange with me too ... they took out £100 and then put it back again the same day !

Guess I'm no worse off though ... feel sorry for those who have been charged but have no confirmation of tix. Hope you sort it out

okay, i only work for ticketweb, so don't shoot the messenger and all, but i checked out the info we actually had on our system last night about the whole thing, before my shift started... and it sounds like they're having to compare their records with the brixton's records... i guess the big problem is, if more tickets were allocated than were actually available, they need to get times and stuff and see who actually got a ticket and who shouldn't have been allocated one, as it had sold out by then...

but i shrug my shoulders! all a bit mad, and by all means give ticketweb shit, but try not to lay into the guys and gals over the phone too much, they only work for the company and all the info they have is what it says on the system... and it could be me on the other end of the line! lol!

thanks for giving us some insider knowledge bumble.....

but one suggestion - if they are comparing records to see who ordered first, if you are one of the lucky, early purchasers and are told you got some, but you ended up with more than you originally wanted, if you can afford it, get em anyways, and pass them on to fellow fb.netters....

Just got this email regarding my customer support request:

Response (Lynsey) - 10/02/2004 03:33 PM
Dear TicketWeb customer

Thank you for contacting us regarding the Pixies concerts at the
Carling Brixton Academy. My apologies for the delay in response.

We experienced an unprecedented demand for the two shows through our
website and this led to a strain on the card authorisation network. We
are currently looking into the matter and will be re-confirming all
successful bookings this week.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this matter has
caused.

Please contact the Ticketweb help desk with any further queries.

And the beat goes on...

Lynsey musta been pretty busy cause i just got a response to my question from her.
However, all she did for me was point me towards the ticketweb help desk, telling me to contact them...
i though, shit, wasn't that what i had just done?

i asked her said question, and am waiting with bated breath for her response.

Just to check, if you have a confirmation code from ticketweb then that definitely means you have a ticket ?? They can't say no once you have a code right ??

I phoned the other night and they took my details and said they'll be contacting people over the next week... hopefully "re-confirming all successful bookings" also means "refunding all unsuccessful booking pretty damn quick"!

So... let me get this right

If they're comparing times etc, it's possible that some of us who don't think we have tickets may actually have tickets. Some of us who know we have tickets, may actually have several tickets more than they want. Meanwhile, some of us who are waiting with baited breath may not have tickets at all.

Given the capacity of the venue vs number of possible bookings (and taking into account the amount of people who will have been ordering several tickets), how long will this take to sort?

Bumblebee Boy - Must say - full respect to the phone dudes - I'm told that so far they've been nowt but friendly and understanding.

I just got this (21:25 GMT):

quote:

We understand that you may have experienced problems when booking for the Pixies. We can confirm that your booking has been unsuccessful. Any debits as a result of these problems are being refunded in full.

TicketWeb apologies profoundly for any inconvenience caused.

However, we can confirm that due to this unprecedented demand, the Pixies have confirmed a further 2 dates, 4th & 5th June today. These will go on sale tomorrow, 11 February, at 9.00am.

http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user/?region=uk&query=search&category=misc&search=pixie&beginmonth=02&beginday=10&beginyear=2004

Wonder how quickly they'll sort out the refunds...

Me too....

Given that we are going to potentially hit the same problems again tomorrow, isn't there anything they can do to help us obtain tickets for the new shows?

depends. if you have a confirmation code then call ticketweb customer services to ensure they have it on their system too. i think you can check online too? but there have been a few cases of confirmation codes been given out that don't show up on our system. IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU WON'T GET A TICKET, and it is rare, just means we're having to investigate and work out if you actually should be getting tickets or not...

tough ones! the comparing times was a bit of a guess on my behalf. just what i'm assuming they'd do, to be fair. but i'm really not sure. if money has been taken from your account, then perhaps, if not, then no, obviously. it's a tricky one. all i can suggest is keep on hassling ticketweb cust services.

ticketweb news - i received contact from them over night and it seems they are going to recredit everyones acounts (with money, not tickets). you would have thought the least they could do was give preferencial sales on the new dates. ah well, have have my tickets anyhow, but that company sucks.
