What Beatles songs would you like to hear Frank cover for a "Frank covers The Beatles" Album?

1. I'll Cry Instead - to me this would be perfect for him to cover. i can hear it already.

2. Dig A Pony

3. Cry Baby Cry - No relation to the other crying song. Just think this would fit hs voice well.

4. I'm So tired

5. Mean Mr. Mustard

6. Run For Your Life

7. Sexy Sadie

8. Oh Darling

9. Slow Down

10. Don't Bring Me Down

11. Yer Blues

12, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away

I have also realized that there are more Lennon sung songs than macca or george or ringo. FB's voice to me seems to fit better with Lennon's songs.

Yeah, he has a knack for finding the good things about not-so-good songs. I've yet to hear a cover he's done where I like the original better. Evil Hearted You comes to mind, what a massive improvement!

Oh, and I like the idea of calling the said album "The Black Album".

I think he could really make something out of I Want You (She's So Heavy). And Helter Skelter. Trying to think of some songs where he could evoke the full power of the Black Francis Primal Scream (TM).

Great idea. Everybody's got somethin to hide except for me and my monkey comes to mind first. Hey Bulldog would be fun too.

It's great.

Uh, it's not REALLY an album so it could be called "Floop" if you want it to be.

I know we could get at least ONE vote for that.

Really, FB is one of the few artists who could actually add something to a Beatles song by covering it. Most of Hard Day's Night begs for his rougher voice. A nice acoustic version of For No One would be very cool-Thanks ObfuscateByWill (nice Groucho quote, too!)

I'll second the motion for Maxwell's Silver Hammer (as it is one of my favorites) and I would also suggest Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me & My Monkey. Listen to it, then imagine Frank and the Catholics going apeshit on that song. Day In The Life would be kick ass, too.

I couldn't believe how much Head On was improved. Weren't J&MChain quoted as saying something like, "Fuck'n-eh! That's how it supposed to sound!"

Who's heard of the "Grey Album" by Danger Mouse? It's a mix of the music of The Beatles "White Album" with the lyrics from Jay Z'z "Black Album":

I guess that I'd love to hear Frack screaming out, "Yellow matter custard;, dripping from a dead dog's eye!"

i downloaded the grey album from a site yesterday. apparently, because it's not allowed to be released, it'll be quite a rarity!

Shouldn't this be in General Frank Black chat?

Sure it's a hypothetical Frank Black album, but at least it involves Frank-talk. It's one of the better, unique topics active right now so it would be a shame if all the people's threads about what post they are on makes it disappear.
