I've come under increasing pressure from my lovely wife to update the cd autochanger in the car.
Current cds:
1. Pixies - Trompe le Monde
2. FB&C - Live at Shepherds Bush, Dec 03
3. Pixies - Doolittle
4. Breeders - Pod
5. FB - TOTY
6. The Chameleons - Script of the Bridge
Apparently this selection is one dimensional and is restricting her choice of listening material. In an effort to be fair and reasonable I've suggested swapping Pixies - Bossanove for no.1 and maybe Frnak Black & the Catholics - Devils Workshop for no. 2. I can't really be any fairer than that. I would value your (impartial) opinions.

Purchase The Feelies "Crazy Rhythms" (unless you have it already) and put it in the place of Trompe Le Monde. It will bring a bit more variation to things but still be an enjoyable mix of music. Or, get some Sly & The Family Stone up in there, like "There's a Riot Goin' On."
The mothafuckin' record is so mothafuckin' wack The mothafuckin' cracka jack needs to step the fuck back |

I would just show your authority and put your foot down. Its your damn CD changer (or possibly its not, in which case ignore me). Put some chick music in there, Belly or something. Ooh, I can imagine the ranting coming my way...

Out of those albums, I've probably heard 'Script of the Bridge' the most times. What an album. Take out that Breeders album and put 'Strange Times' in its place! |

only suggestion I can make is track down the 28/11 Amsterdam recording of FB&C and swap it with above. different songs played in a different order - then she'll have nothing to complain about!

Thanks for the suggestions but the Pixies/FB reign is over for the time being. New playlist as follows:
1. James - Millionaires
2. Echo & the Bunnymen - Evergreen
3. The Divine Comedy - Casanova
4. Air - Moon Safari
5. Mercury Rev - Deserter's Songs
+
6. Pixies - Bossanova (a substitution for The Verve after some 'negotiations')
Not too bad a result but not the mix I would go for.

and to answer each of you in turn:
Adnan - get with the programme. The Chameleons are amazing. BLT speaks the truth.
TarTar - I have no Feelies or Sly & The Family Stone. I may be missing out here.
Cheeseman - chick music!! How about All about eve?? They're on my piss take list along with Terence Trent D'arby and a couple of others in my wife's (old) record collection. I hope she doesn't read this - she's got a stinging right hook.
Vovat - agreed.
benji - haha, a 0% success rate with this one.
Stuart - married for almost 10 years. divorce very expensive. see note to Cheeseman regarding right hook.
apl - too extreme!!
