I was just gonna say...House O Pain apparently have very little Irish connection(I think one of them is of Irish descent, or something)...I think they just wanted to be recognised by some identity, like a gang thing!

Despite the fact that House of Pain have litte ties to Ireland, don't they occasionally sing in support of Sinn Fein and the IRA??

Hmm. I supposedly have some Irish blood, Crouton; but besides some red in my hair, all I got to show for it is this damn hot temper and a taste for Guinness and corned beef and cabbage. I'm really just a no-account british isles mutt.

I think I'm part Scots-Irish, but I probably shouldn't admit that to the actual Irish...

I'm black Irish, which means no red hair. I just got the craving for alcohol to show for my lineage. I didn't even get a bigger dick because apparently the "black" in "black Irish" means somethign totally different from what I thought originally

Apparently, Mickey Rourke once visited Northern Ireland and a journalist or someone pointed out the divide between the Catholic and Protestant estates or something, and Rourke-who had some kind of IRA tattoo, I think-did'nt even know the whole situation there! By the way, McMikey, 'Mick' comes from Michael, which is a common enough Irish name. 'Mc' is kinda like a signifier of your family, I think (Like the way o' is short for 'of'). Its very common here, but it seems like more of a classic Scots thing-"Lead on, McDUFF!"

I'm Irish and Italian. Burke/Caruso on my mothers side. But my last name is Homer. I'm not really sure what that is. I know my dad was part asshole. Uh?... That's all I have to add to this thread. |

People probably don't realise, but De Niro's charector in Goodfellas (Jimmy Conway) is completely Irish...it's hard to except him as non-Italian! |
