I have gotten tired of most of the MP3 that I have on my player. Can anyone recomend a free, streaming radio station on the internet that would be enjoyable to a member of this fourm? (I.E.- Where can we find a radio station for fans of Frank and other bands of a similar ilk?)
Thanks |

While it's not free ($10 a month, small price to pay for what you get), Rhapsody is a great online music service. Tons of radio stations (indie being one of them) and access to over 30,000 albums. I sound like a fucking commercial, but it's great...well worth the $10.

i like a few:
4ad/Beggars group has a good one at www.avdeck.com
also, they might be giants have a free, downloadable "clock radio" that plays all sorts of goodies, available at www.tmbg.com
iTunes has a bunch too that are pretty good - right now on the Indie Pop Rocks! channel they're playing "Santo"

www.epitonic.com - go to a band you like, click "streaming radio - this and similar artists" - good stuff, and very nice cross-referencing for similar bands.
Free mp3s, too. 3 free at first, then "register" for free, then all the mp3s they got are yours.

I like Launch.com which is a division of Yahoo. It's free and you can rate people as you listen, block stuff you never want to hear, and add your favorites, etc.

Oh, P.S. they played a lot of Pixies and Frank when I used to listen to it all day at work.

Thanks for the tip, Ramona. I've got Pixies, Frank, Bowie, Elvis Costello, Beatles, etc. playing on my station, hehe.

Don't you mean Mr. Snuffleupagus? Unfortuneately, I still have not got that pizza :( But now you have me very curious and I think the next time I venture home I'll have to take a slight detour and seek this place out. really!
